SOURCE: 97 dodge intrepid wipers not working

My Chevy was having troubles with the wipers and had to put a large zip tie around the motor and wiring connection. The post were worn down just enough for it to lose contact. The Zip Tie holds tension on it.

SOURCE: My 97 dodge intrepid 3.5L is running hot.

Check the connection betwteen the temp sensor, located on the block and check your fuses/relays. It may help if you pull and reseat each fuse. This is free and saves a lot of headache swapping out parts.

SOURCE: 1996 dodge intrepid 3.3 transmission wont shiftout of first gear

two issues here. this may be a low fluid issue. i would check the level of the fluid first. the next issue could be a blown shift solenoid. these are located inside of the transmission pan.also, check the filter as well.(transmission filter could be clogged)

I just changed a water pump on my 97 dodge intrepid, put everything back together, works fine but my cooling fans wont come on. I turned on A/C and they still dont come on, all wiring is hooked back up,...

You need to go through the proper coolant system bleeding procedure.. There is a bleeder valve in the front center of the intake manifold. You must fill the system, run the car with the heat on until the thermostat opens, top off the coolant and open the bleeder until coolant a steady stream comes out without any air bubbles. Close bleeder, top off coolant, and replace radiator cap. Run car until fan cycles twice on its own.

My 97 intrepid is idle to hight

I'm guessing this Intrepid is a 3.5 cause I have never had this problem with a 3.3 But what I found what always caused it in a 3.5 is bad intake gaskets allowing more air to flow into the engine. Change both upper and lower intake gaskets and this should fix the problem. However when changing the lower intake gaskets there are two bolts that are probably gonna give you problems. The one closest to the front and the one closest to the back. They are the bolts that hold the intake down and go into the head near the coolant ports. These bolts are probably going to break off. The good news is they most of the time break off and there is still a lot of bolt left once you get the intake off to get a vice grips on. Have a torch with a good heating tip handy and someone that really knows how to use it and heat the cyl head around the bolt and then try to get it out with the vice grips, but be very careful cause heating aluminium can be very tricky too much heat and you ruined the head.

Over heating

it can only be two other things, make sure the fan is working and if the fan is working, then you need to change the head gasket.
