2002 AWD Chrysler Town & Country- Heavy drag when turning sharp

When turning the van fully to the right or left and then backing up or moving forward there is a heavy drag on the vehicle as if the emergency brake were on. When turning in tight circles one wheel will actually skid if it hits a patch of sand. We've determined that this is not a brake issue but an AWD issue. Apparently this is not a unique problem. I have been told that if the drag is smooth with no chatter or other noise then this is normal for this type of drivetrain. If that's normal then this drivetrain design is no good. I can't imagine that this vehicle came right from the factory and had trouble turning into a parking space. I was also told that if the fluid were changed it could solve the problem. That didn't work.Is there a fix for this problem that really works and is reasonably priced?
I here the "clutch assembly", an integral part of this system, is about
$2000.00 and I don't even know if this would fix the problem if it were replaced.

This may sound lame but did you ever contact chys. about your problem, as you said there are others with the same issue, maybe you can get an answer or maybe a fix for your problem. I have done it before with G.M. buy just going on to there web site. I never worked on your type of van but i kind of wonder if there is some sort of bump stop or steering stop that is not a justed right and its letting it turn to far and its maybe putting the cv joint on such a bind that it locks up. Just a thought, you might want to chk. the web site or a blog sit and maybe learn from other people who have experance the same problem.

2006 Chrysler Town and Country passenger seat won't move front to back right track seems to be jammed

I have exactly the same problem, and I'm searching for a solution. I think there's just one motor for forward-backward, and mine seems to be operating, because the left (inboard) track moves. The motor seems to have two cables that turn in a shaft from the motor... both of my cables seem to be turning. I think the problem is at the end of the shaft or the track is sticking... I can't move it by hand. Wish I could contact you directly.
