Broke cigerrette lighter power outlet

How can i repair my outlet.  The lighter portion will not come out.  When I pulled harder the whole outlet came out.  It is still attached, but I pulled it loose.  When I do get the lighter portion out, how should the inside look like inside?  I don't want to get cell phone power cord stuck in there like the lighter was. Thanks for the help.

Same problem, no power. Checked with meter - no reading. Manual doesn't indicate which fuse services the outlet - does anyone know which fuse to check?

Just check to see if there is any rust or debris in there. If there is rust in there just use a little sand paper. if not use a rag or paper towel to clean it up. When you plug your phone charger into it you should not have a problem getting it out because the charger end has a spring loaded clip that only holds it in lightly so that it makes contact to ground. I hope this helps. Don't forget to rate my answer, thanks.

How do i find out if its the cigarette lighter port or a fuse that needs replacing on my 2008 Mazda 5?

I pulled fuse 4 from the inside fuse box on the passenger side dashboard, but quickly realized it is for the rear power outlet, not the cigarette lighter outlet. The cigarette lighter outlet is fuse number 6. They are both blue 15A fuses.

possibly in rear of console if it has one. other then that you just have to put it back together there will be a sleeve in the dash that screws onto the part thatt came out. or just get a replacement socket and put it in

My cigerrette lighter does not work need to now why my horn does not work as well. bad fuse or what ?? and where would it be located??

Ford does put the Cig lighter and horn on the same fuse on alot of models. You should have a panel under your steering column or on the drivers side dash on the side. Locate your panel open it and look for a blown fuse. Your manual should tell you what fuse it is or use a test light to check them one by one

Cigarette front lighter is not working in my 2001Saab

Check ALL the fuses. pull them out an dlook. Also repace the one that is power for the dash/rradio/etc... even if it looks good.
If that doe snot fix it then pull the lighter out and test the wire going to it for power. If it has power then you might have a bad plug/ground. Replace outlet if so.

Cigarette lighter not working (Ford Windstar 98, 3.0L

Question is, is it the outlet not working OR the actual lighter part of your lighter - the knobby thing you pull out that glows red after it popped back out after a couple minutes after you pushed it in. If it's the knobby thing - plug in a power device like a cell phone charger to see if the outlet works - then replace your knobby thing. If it IS the outlet, it has to be 2 things, one an errant fuse somewhere that is responsible for your outlet - labeled or not - OR a short or loose ground not allowing the outlet to get power. Check your outlet to see if it gets power, check your knobby thing, and check ALL your fuses, not just the ones for the lighter - could be another blown that helps out the outlet , like the one for dash illumination or the ones that control your radio or heat/air.
