Chuck, There are 2 fuses located in the under hood fuse box.
1) The "WSW" fuse, 30 amp that runs the wiper motor.
2) The "ACC" fuse, 15 amp the goes to the wiper switch.
Remove both the fuses and verify they are not blown.
Let me know and we can go from there.

Wiper suddenly quit working

1st thing is test the wire to the wiper motor on the harness with the ignition on and wipers turned on. If you have power to the motor you need a motor, which would be my guess to begin with. Good luck

Hi - I have 1 2008 Acura MDX and suddenly the wipers came on and won't shut off. (Stuck in intermitten mode.) Also the HIGH speed option for the wipers also isn't working - it just stays on standard speed....

Front wipers.
they all guess, do you want me to guess, too? surely not.
or test?. we can use a voltmeter to find this.
what we do is look at the schematics at
and its all clear. a simple road map;

Sticking on possibles.
the fuses are underhood. fuse 11 and 31
bad motor , internal keep alive cam switch stuck on,
will cause continuous wiper.s

so will motor colored wires green or blue hot full time
will keep motor going full time (any voltmeter, easy check)
12vdc is bad, 0v good (wipers off)
next and last is that wiper relay in hood fuse box, shorted. (pull it out see if they shut off?)
if the relay is good then its input is wrong. the control block.

the combo switch wipers on , sends a CAN buss digital commands to the MICU control block, this i turn powers up the wiper relay.
the MICU has a diagnostic port, and can be tested at the dealer
or errors.

if the relay coil pins are hot all the time, then the MICU /combo side is failing, if not, the problem is the relay ,if its output is hot all the time.
how is that?

'07 Impala Wipers Work Intermittently

Did you check for voltage at the wiper fuse? My info says that fuse is hot all the time. Use a digital multimeter. Everything off, take a reading across battery posts, the generic spec for a full charge is around 12.6 volts. You should get close to same reading at the wiper fuse, hopefully. When checking voltage at the fuse, use chassis ground not the other leg of fuse. There are wiper relays, those are pcb relays, they are soldered into the fuse box, you can't pull them out. Your bcm is also involved with those relays. Your multifunction switch basically tells the bcm you turned on your wipers, then the bcm controls voltage or ground for the relays. You can see wire color for hi and lo speed voltage. Maybe a problem with fuse box or wiring circuit if voltage is low? I hope this was of some help?

Windsheild wipers stopped working suddenly the fuses are all fine so i put a new wiper motor in and they still will not work relays all seem finee whats the next thing to check out

The wipers are controlled through a central electronic module called the GEM, it can be self tested with a Ford scan tool to see what the problem is with the wipers.

Wipers are not working suddenly???

Check your fuse compartment under hood. Fuse 3 & 12 for windshield wipers and washers. More than likely you've overloaded the wiper motor causing a blown fuse.

Just bought 2004 passat and winshield wipers dont work

If both wipers are not working, then first of all check your fuses, if fuses are good follow wiper motor wires or look in owner's manual to find the wiper relay. Test relay with ohmmeter to see if it is good or just replace it.
Double check all wiring.
Last possible cause would be the a bad wiper switch which you can also test with an ohmmeter

1994 Escort 1.8 16v Sudden loss of wipers, blower, windows & indi

Most probably it is a relay problem. First check from car manual which relay is commanding to your wipers, blower etc... Then you or your service have to replace it.
