Question about 2002 Isuzu Trooper

1 Answer

Resubmitting problem description with more details.. There is a crack (the crack is not on the join of two sections it is an actual fracture in the shape of a rough semicircle and looks like something has hit it from the inside as the casting is protrudeing enough to be able to poke a piece of wire through the split in the caseing) in the houseing that is attached to the back end of the gearbox just below the driveshaft and it has lost all the oil from this (sump?) on my isuzu 175 sitec truck. I heard a noise like I had run over a plastic bottle on the road and on checking the truck found this oil leaking from the housing described above. The truck still drives OK and there are no unusual noises and all gears seem io be working ok. Can you please help with diagnosis. The fracture seems to have been caused by something inside and not from the outside, thanks PS I couldnt find a revelant product catagory but it is a 6 ton truck 6 speed gearbox

It would be almost impossible to know for sure what the exact cause but either way you will have to get a new gearbox could be a bad bearing caused allot of play and put a bind on the shaft or could have some teeth broken off a gear best bet is to check local junk yards and find a good used one and swap out.

Heater on hot air regardless of settings

Without knowing the make and model of your car, this is a general answer. Check for a vacuum hose that has fallen off the engine. Sometimes, the small diameter plastic hoses develop cracks that are hard to see. If you find one that has melted from excessive heat you can repair them easily by taking a very sharp knife to score the diameter then bend the end to snap off the damaged part. Cutting it with wire cutters will only crush it and cause more cracks. Once you have prepared the ends of the tube use a rubber vacuum hose section to join the plastic tubes together.

"high rpm no power"

More detail would help, such as what are you working on, and fuller description of symptoms. If you are saying that as the engine revs, power seems to drop off, there are many possibilities. Clogged exhaust system (think bad cat converter), or bad ignition module (they have a low speed section and a high speed section), inadequate fuel delivery, gas pedal not opening throttle all the way, or if your vehicle is "fly-by wire", bad gas pedal section.

check the intercooler for fractures and cracks / leaks. Check that the hoses are in good condition and the clamps are tight. You should hear a whistle when the turbo gets wound up under load so check boost pressure and pryo temperature to check that the throttle setting is at maximum under full throttle and hard on the stop plate.. IF the turbo has variable vanes for performance at low speeds check that the vanes move when you move the actuator rod and check that the actuator is actually working ( vacuum hose brittle and cracked ). Next pull the injectors and have them re-tipped as squirters use more fuel than atomisers. Check for dragging brakes and calipers not centralising on the mounting pins.

I am having trouble with my 1994 2500 GMC diesel... The Chassis seems to be flexing.... I am running a SnowWay Plow on it, the V blade, so it is a heavy front load.. Any idea where the flexing might be,...

You have a pretty decent chassis under there. I can't tell you if or where it is flexing but if you look at it carefully flex will often cause paint or undercoating to crack. Worst case is you may actually have some stress cracks in the metal itself making it even more obvious. No chassis is entirely rigid but they are not really designed to be front loaded with a heavy plow.
If you do find a stress riser, I suggest you weld a section of steel extending at least a foot before and beyond the fracture. That will spread the load a bit.
One other thought...If you are running with an empty box, you could be lifting the rear wheels off the ground. if so, get some weight back there.

Where do i find and how do i fix the EVAP on a '06 chevy tahoe?

EVAP is actually a bunch of things on your chevys fuel system.

I would start by checking the gas cap....is it secured?
If it is, go see if the cap fails E-check. If it does replace it. If the gas cap is ok then you have to either look for a hose leak in the system or for a cracked or leaking filler neck at the gas tank.

If they EVAP has a more detailed description then you can look at the valving or electrical components that it specifically says are faulty.

Bought a Seat Ibiza in November 2009. Just noticed crack in windscreen. It is not a 'chip' like from a stone or other object. It is a fissure, a line crack. Could this have been caused by the extremes of...

It's tempered glass so it can handle the extreme to a point unless you live in the south pole. A crack will always happen if not immediately when a solid object hits the tempered glass. Characteristic of tempered glass is that once it's gone through it's tempering process cannot be cut or gouged for fitment adjustment because it will always crack rendering useless. Unlike untempered glass you can gouge and cut it as many times to fit it in place.

What it means is when ever a tempered glass gets dinged hard enough to gouge it, it will most certainly crack. But for a crack to happen without a gouge because of temperature changes are unlikely because of the tempering process will withstand this changes except subjecting it to a fire above it's flash point.

Its a 2000 lancer

the problem will more than likely be the printed circuit board on the back of the instrument cluster. to remove this lower the steering wheel to its lowest position. there are 2 phillip head screw in the top of the surround remove these and pull surround out. there are 4 screw ,2 top and 2 bottom which hold the instrument cluster in place.remove and then pull the cluster toward you and out. I found the crack in mine to be on the long turn over section which turned out to be between the oil warning light and the hand brake warning light which in my case stopped working along with the tacho and speedo. I repaired the crack by scrapping off the lacquer coating and repairing the track with a circuitworks Conductive Pen - Micro Tip made by chemtronics and purchased from **** smiths ( fairly dear though aprox $40 ).
