There are fuses just for the heater motor alone, a relay under the hood and a fuse in the fuses box, look in you owners manual if you have one or some times the marked. youll find the fuse box under the dash board or in the side of the dash board on the driver side and look for a black box under the hood, the book should tell u what relays and fuses are what

Check the fuse box in the car first then if that dont work check the fuse block under the hood also check for a bad relay. And if that dont fix it you may need a blower motor

1998 ford contour heater blower stop working i checked the fuse it was good i checked the relay and it was good

It is probably the blower itself. If the fuse and relay are good, I would say it is.

I have a 1998 ford contour and the past few weeks i have smelt somewhat of a burning rubber odor.then all of a sudden my heat wont work any ideas? fuse looks good.looking for ideas before i start replacing...

If you aren't getting any airflow out of the heater, your blower motor had a sticky bearing and overheated until it blew its thermal fuse, the motor resistor burned out, or something fried in the heater-A/C controller.

I've never looked under the hood of a Contour, but many cars have the blower motor mounted on the engine side of the firewall, and some of these have the connector out there also. Otherwise, you'll have to crawl under the dash. Once you find the blower connector, you can test the system before you buy parts. First, unplug the blower connector, then (with the car turned on and set so the heater could run if it was working) check the voltage* between the connector pins and ground (not the motor half of the connector!). If you get voltage (which pin has voltage will depend on fan speed settings), then check the motor and any resistors mounted with it. If you don't, look for a separate blower motor resistor, then check the control if necessary.

*Use a voltmeter (preferred) or a small 12 V lightbulb. The "screwdriver spark draw test" used by some amateurs is potentially hazardous and destructive, especially if there are solid-state controllers in the circuit.

1998 ford contour blower motor not working

I have a 1998 Ford Contour. Believe it or not the ABS and the Blower Motor share the same fuse. It's a yellow 60 amp and you have to take off the battery to get at it. Of course this happened twice in the 6 years I had the car, both times in the dead of winter. Tires Plus in Pennsauken, NJ replaced it. Other than that, no complaints with my Contour.

1998 Ford Contour Can't get car out of park.

with the key on and engine running , brake pedal must be depressed to come out of park , assuming you are pushing the brake pedal and it won't come out of park , try turning the car off , bearly turn the key but not all the way to the run position , and see if it will come out now , that will tell us if the safety device is malfunctioning .

Car wont shift out of park and blower motor quit.

Fuse #23 controls the turn signals, heater blower, reverse lamps, and the shift lever solenoid. There is a hole in the right side of the console where you can poke around with a ball point pen and unlock the shift lever. The fuse is located in a panel behind the glove box. I took my car to a dealer and had them change the fuse, but the ball point pen trick will save you a tow job.

96 ford contour blower fan removal

You remove the heater blower by removing the bottom cover of the Glove Compartment. Then you will see The heater blower housing. Then you will see like a black clip you need to lift. Then You simply turn clockwise and bingo its off. To install just do the same thing except in reverse mode. Good Luck!!
