Question about 2001 BMW 5 Series
Hi, I have a 93 BMW 525I . When I adjust the seat forward, backwards, up down etc the seats get twisted. One side of the seat moves more then the other side. This makes the seat cockeyed. . I know the drive motors are working. QUESTION: are there cables that can be replaced? Or, could there be another problem? Are the cables hard to replace? Do I need any special tools? Any help is appreciated.
I have all the info you need..had to do this on my brothers care...short answer is the cables stretch inside their housings.. once seat is removed you trim the casing around the cables 1/4 and reinstall the end caps on each one to make them match their paired partner cables..stupidest thing bmw ever did having two cables to control each movement causing the chairs to twist and buckle like that..compare at $1000 to have qualified service do it for you...
