SOURCE: Cooling fan wont work

The water temp sensor is located near the thermostat housing. This sensor is what tells the ECM to turn the fan on/off. The water temp sending unit is located near the same area. You know you have the correct sensor is because the water temp sensor has a 2 prong plug. The water temp sending unit only has 1 prong.

Bad Stepper motors....the motors in your cluster are very weak... there is an upgraded motor x 25-168...cost 175.00 parts and labor to replace all of them. Ive repaired a lot of clusters with this very problem

SOURCE: cooling fan

Whoever told you the temperature gauge on cavalier is normal 3/4th is the lie. It is however in operating temperature range but on the hot side. Have you flushed your coolant and replaced thermostate, and gotten air vapor locks out.

What does the a/c temp sensor look like for a 2002 chevy cavalier?

There is no A/C temperature sensor , there is an engine coolant temperature sensor . What kind of problem are you having ? The only sensor directly connected to the A/C system is a refrigerant pressure sensor . Your A/C not working , no cooling fan operation ?

The location of a 2002 chevy cavalier cooling fan sensor

The cooling fan is controlled by the PCM - powertrain control module through a relay ! There is no cooling fan sensor , there is a coolant temperature sensor ! This coolant temperature sensor is an input to the engine computer , if there were a problem wit the sensor the check engine light would be on .
Cooling Fan Control
The engine cooling fan system consists of one cooling fan and one relay. The relay is powered by the battery positive voltage circuit and controlled by a switched ground from the powertrain control module (PCM).
During operation, the PCM supplies the ground path for the cooling fan relay through the cooling fan relay control circuit. This energizes the cooling fan relay coil, closes the relay contacts, and supplies battery positive voltage from the cooling fan fuse through the cooling fan motor supply voltage circuit to the cooling fan. The cooling fan motor is grounded through its own ground circuit.
The PCM commands the fan on under the following conditions:
?€¢
Engine coolant temperature exceeds approximately 106?°C (223?°F).

?€¢
A/C refrigerant pressure exceeds 1310 kPa (190 psi).

?€¢
A/C is requested and vehicle speed is below 100 km/h (62 mph) with A/C pressure above 1413 kPa (205 psi).

?€¢
Vehicle speed is less than 8 km/h (5 mph) for more than 750 seconds. The fan will turn off when vehicle speed is greater than 8 km/h (5 mph) for more than 20 seconds.

Replace water pump, thermostat and temperature sensor on 2004 pontiac aztek still getting hot

have you checked to see if the cooling fan is working properly.if not then it will have to be checked to see if its the fan that is no good, wiring,or a relay.there are 2 temp sensors one for the gage/light and one for the computer to know what the engine temp is to alter engine controls and cooling fan operation.

REPLACE THERMOSTAT BUT IT SOUND LIKE FAULTY COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR.BUT CHECK COOLING FAN FUSE AND RELAY.IF ALL IS GOOD HOT WIRE COOLING FAN IF COOLING FAN WORKS.PROBLEM COULD BE FAULTY COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR. DAMAGE FAN WIRING OR FAULTY PCM.IF COOLING FAN DONT RUN WHEN HOT WIRED.REPLACE FAN AND MOTOR.

My electric fan wont come on.

First check the fuse, then check to see if the coolant level in the radiator is low, then if you can check the cooling fan relay, and the cooling fan motor to make sure it is good,if all this checks out fine, then replace the coolant sensor, and bleed the cooling system of all the air in it.

Air won't cool when the car is stopped on a 2004 chevy cavalier. car temp is normal

make sure electric coolant fan is running.if not check or replace fan relay.the coolant fan has to be running to cool down refrigerant in condensor.so refrigerant in condensor is cooled back down to high pressure liquid so it can go to evaporator.see ifcoolant fan not working.the AC is not going to cool.when you driving the condensor is cooling down from moving air when car is going.when you come to a stop.cooling fan suppose to be on so condensor gased can be cooled down.
