If you have an auto, you could have low fluid level, or your fluid and filter need to be changed. If a manual, maybe a shift linkage problem.

We put the #1 piston up top dead on my 2001 Daewoo Lanos top cam gears are lining up perfect but it is hard to see the timing mark on bottom gear. It threatens to start but won't like it is still off...

hope fully you didnt get it out too many teeth because these engines bend valves, any more than 2 teeth either way and trouble!!! arrow on crank gear aligns up with mark in plastic cover wipe with rag to see its hard to see sometimes if its this type

Manual transmision don't shfit

Check all your linkage goin from your shift lever to your transmission. You might have messed it up. prolly will have to remove the center console to access it and find where it connects under the hood. look for broken cables or binding linkage.

Electrical problem

sounds like you need to take to dealer to have it re-programmed .quick reset might cure it though and dont laugh at this as it often works and save a few quid .disconnect both battery terminals and hold them together for a least 30 secs to discharge capacitors in ECU .it might work and its worth a shot .if it doesnt hope your big enough to lay the golden egg
