Assuming that the polarity wasn't reversed during the reinstallation, I would check the terminal ends of the battery cables.
One (+) is likely connected to a starter terminal, the other (-) either to the engine block or chassis sheet metal. The latter cable may be fastened to sheet metal and have an additional cable tying the chassis and engine block together.
You should also have a multimeter so you can track down any breaks in the cables and to verify the fuses since these can have broken elements that might not be clearly visible.

If you haven't removed both ends for cleaning, you aren't finished yet.
Corrosion trapped between connectors and the terminals to which they are connected may not be visible until the connector is actually removed.

It may seem like an impossible mistake to make but I've seen it done; the installing of a battery backwards, swapping the negative and positive terminals, even if only for a split second will damage an incredible number of things in a car.

I lived in Europe for years and some cars seemed less protected against salt spray from the roads and Peugot was one of those cars years ago.
I hope they have improved corrosion protection since then.

Try turning on an interior light (dome light) to see if it will light.
If it does, try the starter again.
If the light goes out, you still have a bad connection.

How to fix an electrical circuit fault on peugeot 307

Test charging circuit (usually for free at parts store). A battery getting drained can cause much of this. With car sitting still you could try removing fuses one at a time to see if there is an unusual draw.

Peugeot 106 won't start

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

If your car doesn't even crank please be sure that the battery has a good charge. If the battery is good then the problem will be on the starter itself.

If the battery and starter is good then the problem may rely on the fuel pump itself so this will require replacement for the car to work again.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

Orange engine light with K on it on the dashboard

Sounds like a common error to me, when doing the clutch it is easy to knock the crank sensor when putting it all back together. It may be damaged or dislodged.

It is the Black plastic part at the top front side of where the gearbox meets the engine, 3 wires going to it.

They are very common so also very cheap.

Oil and handbrake lights flashing peugeot 106 s2

Hi, If you solve engine idle speed fault this will stop warning lights.
Oil preasure falls when engine not at norm rpm because oil pump is not turning fast enough.
Put car on diagnostics to check for any fault codes
