Question about 2000 Jeep Cherokee

1 Answer

Flasher or turn signal switch

The turn signals dont work but the emergency flasher does I have a 2000 Cherokee Sport. My turn signals and Hazards use the same relay. I know this because when I finally located the 5 prong Flasher (behind the driver air vent) and removed it both quit working all together and when I replaced it, they both functioned properly. Unfortunately for me, there is a non-stop buzzing coming from it, except when I actually have my turn signal on. It causes me to repeatedly remember Loyd in Dumb and Dumber saying, "You know what the most annoying  sound in the world is?"

the most annoying is your horn blowing for no reason when u are following a large group of outlaw bikers with hangovers.

Make sure the relay is plugged in all the way. When I replaced mine it was taped in and the new one wouldn't stay in without a little bit of duct tape.

Why directional signal won't work in 2000 s70 but hazards do work

different circuits. Could be a bad signal switch or connector associated with it, a bad flasher module, maybe a fuse.

What would cause my blinkers to stop working on a 2000 jeep cherokee sport?

Interesting, these are on the same circuit.

1) Click the hazards on and off a few times to exercise the switch.
2) Replace the flasher timer relay.
3) I believe that this system has a little computer center, about the size of a machbox and it is located under the dash. Swap this out with one from a junkyard.

Left and right turn signals do not work. Hazard flashers work, turn signal fuse intact. where could the problem be?

Check the indicator switch, that seems to be all that is left in the system, except the flasher relay, depending on whether the vehicle uses the same one for the hazards or not.

The turn signals do not work when you use the signal switch. However, the emergency flashers do work. The fuse was checked and is good. Everything else on the signal stem works: the cruise control,...

if the fuse is good and all the lights work(if you checked them when the hazards were working)then you need a signal flasher, the signals have a separate flasher and it looks like the hazard flasher.if you turn on the hazards and look for it under the dash then you know what the signal flasher looks like,it is located on the fuse panel of in that area.

Emergency flashers work but turn signals dont

Your signals work on a seperate system then your flashers. Sounds like your multifunction switch is busted.

Turn signal sometimes flashes both rear turning lights

I would check the flasher due to the fact that is where power is being sent to to send out intermit voltage to the rear lamps. check for open or groundin wires

Blinker dont work flasher and other lights work

The turn signals don't work, but the emergency flashers do? If that's the case, replace the flasher, you have 2 flashers, one for emergency (hazard) flasher, and one for the turn signals. It should be on the fuse block under the dash.
