Take a board and put it under the starter and that will keep it from turning while you are taking the nuts off the wires.

Hi,
If the head gasket was blown by overheating, it could have ruined the engine bearings, which could keep it from running.

ON my 95 ford taurus the E.E.C. 30amp fuse blows every time I put a new one in it and then turn the ignition on to start it.

This means you have a dead short, you will need to look around engine area for bad wiring or component, you will need to start disconnecting components under the hood in the engine like injectors o2 sensors alternator , my first test would be to disconnect the small wire to the starter and leave the big one one for now and see if the fuse dtill blows, i have found this to happen when the starter is shorting out inside, if you turn the key and the fuse doesnt blow then replace the starter, remember the small wire on the starter. good day.

How to install starter on 2004 Ford Taurus

The starter is located in front of the motor between the radiator and the oil pan. There is two bolts that reqires a thirteen wrench or socket to remove it. Disconnect the battery first before you start. The bottom bolt is usually a stud that hols the ground wire from the battery. Remove the nut from the stud, than the ground wire, than the stud. Than remove the top bolt. Remove the two wires from the starter and you have it

My Ford Taurus 1994 only clicks when trying to even when jump sta

You need to see if the battery is holding 11 volts or more while trying to crank it over. If it is, then you need to see if the same is getting to the starter motor. If the voltage looks good at the starter, the starter is bad.
At the starter you will have a larger wire from the battery, that always has positive voltage, and a smaller wire that has positive voltage only while trying to start it.
