Question about 1984 Chevrolet Caprice
Gotta love chevy, ill be glad to help, first unhook your battery cables, then ther will be a wire going to the back of your alternator, where it attatches to the alt. there will be a small rubber cover. slide the rubber cover back to reveal a small nut holding the cabl on. remove it. next ther is a small plastic plug also on the back of the alternator. unplug it. the using a 1/2 wrench loosin the bolt on the upper right hand side of the alternator. then using a 9/16 ratchet or wrench lossen the long bolt on the bottem left(keep in mind this is while facing the car from the front) then pivot the upper end of the alt. to the right. this will loosen the belt, remove the bellt, and last remove the two bolts all the way and alternaror will come free. good luck
