I would double check my timing. make sure crank is tdc and cam mark is lined up. if so double check any connectors that you might have disconected

I have a 2002 hyundai sonata 4 cylender, it stopped running on me. It was towed to a shop(not Hyundai) I've purchase a fuel pump(they discovered that it wasn't the fuel pump) I've purchased spark plugs...

if jump time that should be it timing marks and the tensioner are to lined up an also install new tensioner and recommend water pump if driven by the timing belt. if it has bent valves cause you jump time usually the car won't trun over at all.

Change water pump on 2001 hyundai tiburon

It is a 2.0L (the delta blocks weren't in tibs until '03). You have to remove the timing belt tensioner, and then you can remove the bolts for the water pump. I would strongly recommend not only taking careful precaution not to disturb the orientation of the gears in this process, but also to replace the timing belt and water pump at the same time. You don't want to go through this process all over again do you?

Do you have to change the timing belt when changing water pump

yes in this case it is correct, the reason is that the water pump and the timing belt runs toghter.. you dont want to change one without the other..

I need instructions on replacing the timing belt

1. Remove the Alternator Belt.
2. Remove the Water Pump Pulley
3. Remove the Air Conditioner Belt and Power Steering Belt.
4. Remove the Crankshaft Pulley.
5. Remove the timing belt cover
6. Remove the timing belt tensioner pulley.
7. Remove the Timing Belt.
8. (If Replacing) Remove Idler Pulley.
Installation is reverse of removal. Keep a close eye on the timing marks on the cam sprockets to make sure you don't knock anything out of whack.

I would strongly recommend replacing the water pump while you are replacing the timing belt. (The water pump usually comes in the timing belt kit.) Otherwise you are going to have to do this all over again when your water pump goes out. Good Luck.
