My Opel Corsa 1.4 (2008) has an inconsistant idling, the engine seems to be surging but does not die when idling. This is a 2008 model with ecotec engine.
No idea offhand to be honest i would need my head under the bonnet to know what wrong .could be anything from the gauze filter in the fuel tank on the bottom of the fuel pump becoming chocked up and leaving the car allows it to drop away to a faulty pump overheating or the contacts ,maybe even a ignition module overheating ,Best advice is ask a local mechanic to have a look for you as normally these early opel corsas with the 4 cylinder engine are bullet proof they are even valve free if the timing belt snaps .
Sounds like you not getting enough fuel. Try replacing you fuel filter which sits under neath the rear near the tank. Just follow the line from the tank and you'll see it or it can be a faulty fuel pump You should get 3 bars pressure from it.
Use the timing marks on the damper for the crank and bring it to 0 on the cam there are marks that correspond with a mark on the head. Look on autozone dot com and put in the year make and model then look at the free repair guides.

the signal from the crank angle sensor thats mounted against the block pointing to the crank pulley is what tells the ecu that the engine is turning and to provide spark and injector pulse so your possible problem area is the ecu also check the ecu harness plug wires and pins make sure the crank angle sensor is plugged in
I'd guess: not enough fuel flow. could be a fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel pump relay, fuel pressure regulator. No check engine codes? I would think there should be some that would help diagnose.
I have a problem with my essentia opel corsa 2012. The car overheated and blown the top cylinder. I had the engine overhauled. Before I overhauled the engine, I used to be able to open and close the windows and the starter used to crank perfectly. The day the mechanic touched the engine nothing ever worked again. What could be the problem? Please assist
ITS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE NEAR THE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY, IF YOU STAND IN FRONT OF THE CAR FACING THE WINDSCREEN , ITS ON YOUR LEFT , IT ACTUALLY READS OFF THE PULLEY TOOTHED WHEEL, IT FITS ONTO A BRACKET HELD BY A TORX BOLT , ITS ALSO VERY CLOSE TO THE PULLEY AND HAS A CABLE CONNECTED TO IT
