Some bad gas may have plugged up the system. Try changing the fuel filter and running injector cleaner in the tank.

SOURCE: 93 plymouth voyager fuel pump

robtheref200: it is not uncommon for there to be generic parts which have a multitude of applications. The way they may apply them to various vehicles is by using various adapters, whether it be electrical connectors, different size hoses, a variety of different clips or there may be special instructions which instruct you to move certain things to a different position on the brackets supplied.
The fact that you checked with two different parts stores was wise.
What you might do, is go on line and see if you can find this same application. Often there are internet stores who will sell the same product and you can look them up your self. Your only other option is to buy a new one from the dealer, which may be cost prohibitive. ALTHOUGH>>>>on occasion, I have checked and surprised my self to find out the dealer had the lowest price in town!
I hope my answer will have helped you in making a sound decision.

SOURCE: check engine light is on

CONGRATULATIONS! You have successfully joined the ranks of those that waste their hard-earned money by blindly guessing and throwing parts at a car while at the same time having no clue what is causing the problem.

Please read this article before continuing: What Else Could Be Wrong?

Your check engine light is trying to tell you that one of the many systems monitored by the computer is malfunctioning. If the light is on, that means that there is definately one or more fault codes recorded in the computer memory that will lead you to find out what is wrong with your car. You need to scan your engine computer and retrieve the fault codes. Then the fault codes need to be properly diagnosed before anyone can tell you what to fix.

What could cause my 2000 plymouth grand voyager engine light to come on

your check engine light going on for a number of reasons

you need a scanner to read your minivan's computer code to direct you in which sensor had failed

if you don't have an obd2 scanner, a local autozone, advance auto parts store will check it FOR FREE

then, post your P#### if the local auto parts store person didn't tell you which sensor or wiring to look for

My 2000 f250 5.4 gas motor has a miss and sputters under excelleration. I changed the plugs what else can it be

It's possible the miss and the sputtering are two separate problems. Bad spark plug wires can cause a miss and poor performance. Sputtering may be a fuel delivery problem - anything from a clogged fuel filter to a bad fuel pump or dirty fuel injectors. If your fuel filter has passed its recommended service interval, or if you have heard of bad fuel problems in your area (my area had an incident a couple of months ago), change the filter.
The most efficient way to check the wires is to measure the resistance if you have a multimeter. Radio interference suppression wires should measure approximately 1000 Ohms, with the exact amount depending on length. Metal wires should measure less than 1 Ohm - very little more than you would get if you shorted the two ohmmeter probes together. (If you need more information on using a multimeter to read resistance, I can write that up for you.) Note: check just one wire at a time so there's no chance of mixing up connections. If any wire fails to produce a reading, or it won't read unless you bend it just right, that wire is broken. If any of the spark plug wires has damaged insulation, especially burned spots, change it. (Sometimes you can find bad wires by looking under the hood after dark with no lights present - you may see corona discharge or sparking around the bad spots.)
With the problems you are having, I would be surprised if you did not have your engine service light coming on. Get a readout of the engine computer error codes. This can save a lot of time and money trying hypothetical solutions. (I have listed the most common and simplest items, but there are a number of other things that can cause your problem.)

My check engine light is on and I had it checked at

the iat sensor(intake air sensor) it is in big hose from air cleaner and has a 2 wire plug on it.iat sensor monitors tempurature of air entering engine. the pcm uses this info, to balance air and fuel mixture. if bad it can cause; poor idle when cold, stumble on cold excelleration, and surging when engine is warm. I replaced the iat on my malibu and it was less then 20.00, any auto parts store shold have this, I know advance auto does. the sensor just pulls out from hose.

2000 Neon started missing but when I drive it fast it runs better, and the check engine light is on. Also, I changed the spark plugs but 1 spark plug has oil on it. What do you think it is?

you need to check the check engine light first. then the miss can be from the oil on the spark plug i would replace that spark plug with oil on it and replace the valve cover gaskets this will prevent the problem from happening again

I have a 97 chevy tahoe. I changed the spark plugs, wires, distrubutor cap, rotor. About 300 miles later engine light came on. I thought maybe cheap distrubutor cap and rotor was cheap. I went to auto zone...

the number 6 cylinder is located (if you are looking at it from the front of the car) it is on the left side third cylinder back from the front. you probally have a bad injector that is just dripping fuel into that cylinder.

2000 windstar check engine light come on moter

If you live in the US, take it into an Auto zone store and they will read off the stored codes for you. Once you have the codes you can decide on a course of action.
Other major auto parts outlets may offer the same service, as they all want your parts business. Give them a call.

Hope this is of some help.

Check Engine light & slight hesitation

If you look under the cat. converter there might be a plug that you can remove to clean it out with.If you remove the plug then just rib - up the engine a time or two .That will clean it out for you.If the code that Auto Zone pulled up was PO420 then you might start by replacing the 02 sensor that's right before the cat. converter.

Ford escort

Replace the Spark Plug wires, they burn through and short to the valve cover/cylinder head causing a miss under load, very common concern with this Mazda engine that was used in your Escort GT. Buy the best wire set you can find, or the problem will re-occur very quickly. Auto-lite makes a good set at a good price, avail at most chain parts stores like Kragen, Auto Zone etc.
