2001 volvo V70 T5 Problems

The gas gage stopped working, the rear wipper stopped working, the rear washer stopped working, the door locks stopped working, excep the driver side, the dimmer stopped working, the check engin light came on, the lights on the heat controll do not light up and it all happened at once.
I checked all the fues and they are all good. All the lights on the heat controll were just changed.

Thanks "aanett". Turns out the check engine light was coincidental to the problem. The dimmers work but I didn't know, only at night. The door locks, rear wiper and gas gage are controlled by something in the rear fuse box in the station wagon. My mechanic was going to replace it either from Volvo from ($300.00) and they said it would need to have a software download for extra amount or he could put in a used unit for $125.00. He said I could do it. I decided to see how hard it was so I started to disconnect it. I started buy undoing a bolt at the front and bottom of the fuse box and found out it was a connector to the box. I didn't want to undo and connections at this time so I put it back

together and when I closed the back hatch I heard the door looks make a noise. I tried my remote and the door locked and unlocked, so I started the car and the gas gage when up and the rear wippers work. My mechanics said sometime that resets the computer, so all is fine.

Had this same problem with a 2001 v70. Dealer needed to download new software to the computer. Took about 20 minutes and solved the problem. (The problem happened at 10 degrees below zero and I went in to see if they could tell me where the fuses for those circuits were located.)

Unfortunately the sofware re-load was not cheap.

Key fob will not reset after replacing battery for my 2001 volvo v70?

Just replacing the battery in a key fob should not require any reset! If the power door locks work using the remote or key then it could be the switch is faulty!

I have a 2001 Volvo XC (V70), I think the fuel gauge may be frozen. Is this possible?

Electrical issue is causing your hassles. Look for a bad ground in circuit common to those items.

2001 Volvo V70-T5 fuel guage malfunction

I had a similar issue and started to notice other electrical failures along with the gas gauge. My rear doors would not lock and my rear wiper stopped working. I started pulling fuses and relays to see if this would reset, no go. But then I hit the jackjpot. In the rear electrical panel, below all the fuses and relays is a 2" x 2" black plastic square with a big screw in it.

Remove the screw and pull evenly on the black square. This seems to be a major electrical hub for the car. I reconnected and all 3 of my issues disappeared...I read somewhere that a fix might be to disconnect the battery for a few minutes, which I guess re-sets some relays and circuits, but I guess this did the same thing. Good luck.
