Can't put gas in 1998 Chevrolet Malibu

I cannot put gas in the vehicle. It acts like its full and won't pump but it is not full. I have had the repair guy reset the computer codes 9 times and the problem re-occurs.

I hope you didnt pay anybody too reset the computer codes that has nothing too do with the problem
your problem is that the filler hose between the spout and the tank is blocked or has a kink in itor has colapsed its an easy fix and cheap too replace

My car ran outta gas i put gas in it and it wont start it acts like it wants to but doesnt i have replaced the fuel filter i hear the fuel pump working when i replaced the fuel pump gas came out the pump...

the first thing I would do is check fuel pressure. The pumps on these vehicles do not like to be run without fuel in the tank since its the fuel that helps keep the pump cool. Running low or out of fuel will cause the pump to overheat.

If fuel pressure is less than 35-40 psi than the pump is bad.

How do you change the fuel pump on a 1998 chevy malibu 3.1 L V-6?

you have to remove the fuel tank, unhooking everything attached to it, drag it out from under the car, and unlock the fuel pump locking ring with a hammer and punch. Empty the gas out, replace, put the tank back the way it was, and put the gas back in. You should then be ready to go.

When trying to put fuel in my car. my car whouldnt allow me to put fuel in it. it acted like it was full and ran out on the ground. what could be the problem? chevy malibu 1999

there is a metal flap inside that is spring loaded, make sure you are pushing the neck of the gas can (assuming you are using one) all the way in making the flap open up.

1998 chevy malibu fuse question

Sounds like you have a ground problem, i doubt its in the sending units as both gauges are acting strange work, seeing that electricity likes paths of least resistance one gauge could be grounding through another. Bad grounds wreak havoc on electrical systems.

Turned car off at gas station want start back acts like missin

all of these problem codes refer to EGR valve and emission controls. It may be, if egr was fixed, it would be ok!! take off EGR valve and clean carbon from egr hole in engine and from EGR valve. if egr valve is bad or plugged with carbon then the car will act like it is not getting fuel, it will bog down.

Fuel injection, could be a few things. Bad injectors, I forget the term for it but the unit that tells what injector to spray at the right time, or even regulator.
