My 2005 gmc seria heater will not blow hot air


There are a number of possibilities.
First, its the level of coolant in the radiator full?
Low coolant level will cause this, because the heater is higher than the engine, so air can rise to the heater and form an air-lock.
Second, is the thermostat good?
A thermostat that is stuck open will not make heat for the heater.
Third, the control valve may be stuck or broken, not allowing the hot water to flow to the heater core.
Usually these are vacuum operated, and usually found under the hood.

Smell of antifreeze and heater blowing cold air in my 97 eclipse


Check heater core location for leakage. If no heat is coming out when you have the temp set to hot, chances are you have a blocked heater core. If you smell antifreeze from heater fan, you may have a leak in the box that contains the heater core. Your windows may fog up too, if you keep the heater on for a bit, but this happens more often if the air coming out is warm, or hot. Hope this helps!

I have a 2001 ford Taurus with 156000 miles it runs great I only have w problems 1st I have no heat either from the heater or defrost. Problem number 2 the dome light stays on and so does the door ajar...


ok, first the door ajar light you have a bad door jam switch it is hard to test which one i suggest you take it to a shop, but you can remove the interior light fuse to keep the lights from running the battery down, now to the heater, you state that you have no heat from the heater or defroster vents, I am not sure if you mean no air flow or that you do have air flow but no heat , if its no air flow check for a vacuum leak under the hood it will be a small hard vacuum line coming from the back of the intake manifold, if you mean you have air flow but no heat first check your coolant level if it is ok warm up the engine and check to see if both heater hoses are hot if both are check your blend door adjustment, if one hot and one cold you need a heater core ( a big job and expensive ) if both are luke warm replace thermostat......GOOD LUCK

Fiat seicento 2000 reg keeps overheating after going 5 or so miles, light comes on then grumbling and water from expansion tank. had new radiator switch put on, took fan off and tested-works ok- but not...


This may be a puzzle...
The seicento (I drive the same car) likes to create problems in the heater section of the cooling system. The small pipes to it (behind the carburator) may be blocked or the entire heater may simply be dirty. Flushing the system with a water hose may help. Usually this problem starts slowly and goes away if you re-start the engine and then excellerate a few times. Check if your heater blows hot air - if yes, and if he keeps blowing hot air (does not cool down and get cold) ther is no blockage. If you have a blockage, your heater will only blow hot for a little while and then comes normal cool air - if this is the case, you have a blockage right in your heating system which runs your cooling system hot and the cap of your cooling tank will start leaking. This is a comon problem on older Seicentos....
Other general problems can also be the case, like defective thermostat, fan motor does not come on (check fuse and relais first).
In some cases, ther might be some air trapped in the cooling system and doing the above will also cure it. At last, check if your water pump is working.

Your valve that shuts off the hot water to your heater core is not closing.Your AC is running but it is trying to cool down 200Deg. air.May be a issue with the heater/AC contol in the dash or the mixing valve stuck open.

How do i find a vacuum leak on a 1998 ford


A.B.S. stands for Antilock Brake System. The antilock braking system is an electronically controlled hydraulic system. Vacuum has absolutely nothing to do with your A.B.S. system or the light being on. To find the reason that this light keeps coming on, you must scan the Antilock Brake Control Module for fault codes and follow the troubleshooting chart for the related code. The most common problems with these systems are wheel speed sensor problems and vehicle speed sensor problems. (although it could be a number of other things including the hydraulic control unit)

I assume that "my heater is always blowing hot air" means that you cannot control the temperature.
The "blend-air" door in the HVAC housing is what controls how much of the air is directed through the heater core, and therefore the temperature of the air coming out the vents. On your vehicle, vacuum controls the "mode" door (which switches the airflow from defrost to vent or floor) and the air inlet door (which switces the intake air from outside air to inside air or "recirculate") The blend-air door is controlled by an electric motor. It is located on the upper, forward side of the HVAC housing and requires removal of the dash to gain access to it for replacement. This vehicle has a history of the blend-air door getting broken at the point where the actuator motor connects to the door. If the blend-air door is broken, the complete service plenum (HVAC housing) must be replaced because the door is is not available as a separate piece and the housing is glued shut and would have to be broken or cut open to replace the door if it were available. (Not one of Fords better ideas) There is also a Technical Service Bulletin for your vehicle which covers this subject.

I have a warning light that comes on and off on my 1999 Volvo S40. The light is like a "y" letter upside down in a green triangle on a orange back ground. Please help


I think that this is the Lamda warning light which is an indication that the fuel / air mixture is not correct or the Lamda sensor mounted on the manifold is defective.
