I have the same problem. I was told by a mechanic that I need to replace the housing for the turn signal bulb. There's not a good connection to the bulb. I think this is a common problem with the Colorado. One quick solution I've found is to take a screwdriver and bend the prongs inside the housing where the bulb goes to make for a tighter fit for the bulb. Does anyone know of a better, more permanent solution without buying a new lightbulb socket. Apparently this item canot be purchased at your local auto store.

Your right rear light is flashing, but not the front? Then it's not the flasher. It's probably a wire or a faulty bulb. (your new one) Use a test light to see if there is power up there. With the signal light on, your test light should flash. If it doesn't ... check the wires . Keep working back until you find power.

SOURCE: Turn signal flash circuit

Take the panel under the steering wheel off and its behind a little lip on the right side (left side of the stereo)

Its real easy to get too after you take that panel off.

Sounds like the flasher unit to me. Normally the emergency flasher and turn signal are separate.

My left turn signal recently stopped working. Before ceasing to work, the turn signal (just the left) would blink very rapidly (machine gun speed).

sounds like one of light bulbs was malfunctioning and caused the flasher unit to blink rapidly and iy burned out. Replace front and rear turn lite bulbs and see if flasher flashes. if not check fuse and replace fuse. If fuse okay replace flasher unit. Good luck

Left turn signal flashes fast on dash. Front light flashes normally, rear light wont flash at all. switched bulbs with right rear and got the same results. Looked for a relay to replace but couldn't find...

the flasher relay is located in the fuse panel, But you may want to check the front lights as well since all 4 of the blinkers are linked for the hazzard feature, any one of the bulbs can cause this issue.

I'm trying to connect a remote wire to the harness of an original stock radio need to know which wire to attach it to the vehicle is a 2005 chevy cobalt coupe

check:
1. the light bulbs
2. fuse(s)
3. check/replace the flasher relay in the fuse panel(front left of engine compartment).
If all of these check out it could be the signal stalk

Turning signals not working

The way the system works is:
The fuse supplies 12 volts to the flasher unit then leaves the flasher and goes to the turn-signal switch in the steering column.
When you set the turn-signal switch to turn right or left, the switch sends that 12 volts to the front and rear bulbs. The voltage goes through the bulb, lighting the bulb and goes to ground.
If any of these components are not good than the lights will not work.
Check the fuse and make sure it is good, the fuse will be located under the hood at the fuse center.
Let me know if you have a test light and we can proceed from there.
Regards,

1993 Dodge Shadow...left turn signal won't flash

If the fuses are good and the front and rear bulbs are good, change the flasher for the turn signals, even tho the right is working. If that doesn't fix the problem, it might be in the turn sgnal switch on the steering column.
If both bulbs are good for the backup lights and fuses are good, then the backup light switch, which is screwed into the side of the transmission has to bad.

we found the flasher curcuit had no power to the hot prong. So my friend wired the flashers hot prong into the radios fuse curcuit to get power to it and put a separate 10amp fuse on the new lead.

Flasher or turn signal switch

When you select left or right do any of the bulbs come on? If you select left check front and back left side if one of the bulbs did not come on the flasher will not work. Change the bulb that is out. Same with the right. If the fuse for the turn signal is good (check fuse or replace do not use visual, some appear to be good but are not).
The emergency flasher is different from the turn signal flasher. Look at manual for location of turn signal flasher. If you manually lift and lower turn signal control you may hear a clicking under the dash to locate the flasher.
