Question about 1997 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup

1 Answer

My 97 s 10 is leaking radiator fluid for the third time

So ive put a new radiator and a new water pump in it when it leaked the first time, and it started to leak again so we put some lock tight washers on it to keep it still and it started leaking again today, any idea why it keeps coming loose? The water pump is not shot it just keeps coming loose

In 2005 chevy impala the heater only gets warm sometimes. Other times it blows cold air. I put fresh antifreeze in. And there is no water on the floor of the car

The adding adding coolant means you have a leak somewhere, and low coolant level will cause this. How often do you check the fluid levels? Check for leaking hoses, weak radiator or expansion tank cap, leak at the water pump, and leaks around the radiator.

My radiator fan is not working and my car is leaking water ive recently had a new thermostat anew water pump and a thermostat put on my its a 95 buick skylark 4 cyl if you can help please let me know

You have a couple of different problems here. You need to address the leak issue first. If you took it to a shop, go back and tell them to fix their work. Your radiator fan is another issue. Is this fan the big one you normally see on engines or are you talking about the auxiliary cooling fan that is mounted in its own assembly right behind the radiator? The auxiliary fan is controlled by a temperature sensor that your car's computer operates. For a better explanation, see the following link:

More than likely, the shop that did your work did something wrong and they are required to fix their screw up. At a minimum, they should warranty their work for at least 90 days.

Car is overheating after short drive (3/4 hour) had thermostat changed, put new coolant in radiator. radiator was pressure tested no leaks? car ok short drive to store. resevoir seems always overfilled...

The expansion tank will be more full when hot. Let it cool down and check it then. The level in the axpansion tank should go lower. If not then you may have a faulty radiator cap.
Also have you checked the cooling fan? Engine driven? With the engine off, spin the blade. Does it spin real freely? Continue to spin for more than a quick second? May have a bad fan clutch. They have fluid inside and the fluid can leak out of the seals after age.

2004 Ford Rager over heat lifgt goes on loses

There is a leak somewhere in the cooling system if the radiator is dripping fluid. A new thermosat won't solve this problem, as the system is already leaking.

Replace the radiator if it is leaking.

Look for leaks elsewhere, as well, and replace parts that leak.

Make sure the fan turns on when it gets hot, or when a/c is turned on.

Hope this helps.
