Unhook the rubber hose running to the fuel tank, then:

1. Thread a slide hammer into the key slot and pop out the lock mechanism.

2. Using an air driven drill, drill out the cap with a nice step-drill bit.

3. Call a locksmith.

2004 chevy cavalier not starting after changing battery

When taking battery cables loose, I try to use memory saver. Hoping there won't be any problems on start-up? Are you saying the starter motor cranks good, but, won't start? If so, have helper crank it, while you check for spark at the spark plugs--check proper fuel pressure--check fuel injector pulse. If the starter motor won't even crank, then have to check voltage and ground for the starter motor. Any starter testing, make sure tranny is in park or neutral and functional parking brake is set.

2003 chevy malibu, last year ,while driving, made a sound like a rooster crowing. mechanic checked it out and could find nothing. today, it happened again for about 5 minutes. what could it be?

Thats the evap system. The fuel tank has to deal with 2 types of pressure think of a gas can. Leave a 1/4 full gas can in sunlight it expands then leave it in the shade it contracts. There are preventive measure preventing the fuel tank from expanind and rupturing or imploding..The evap system is working

I'm thinking of installing a 2002 Ford Lighting 5.4 engine in a 1953 Ford truck. Do I need a fuel pume in the gas tank and will it fir in my gas tank.

I'am suprised you ask that question.
You know that a 53 has no electric pump or that a pump some 49 years
later, won't have a place to go ,and match up to a gas tank not designed for one.
You have to have a custom tank made or modify yours,or put a pump out side it.

My chevy uplander 2007 ran out of gas. I have

Since the Uplanders have the long (front to back) skinny gas tank, with the outlet to the rear; if you run out of gas with the front/nose inclined lower than the rear, then it can take upwards of 5 to 8 gallons to get it started again. It was written up in a GM TSB. Two gallons won't start it. When the gage reads less than 1/2, it's not a good idea to park with the front lower than the rear...unless you carry a full 5 gal. refill. Thank you GM engineering.

I have a 93 chevy lumina and i smell gas when i park and my low coolant light stay on and i dont know whats the problem

First you may have gas tank leak, put a box underneath the car to see about that.
Second check your antifreeze but make sure its the correct kind. The wrong kind can ruin and engine.

Engine doesnt like to start on a hill when low on gas.

Because you have limited gas, the small amount of gas that you have in there isnt being sent thru your fuel line because ur on a slant. Thus when your level, gas is distributed evenly in the tank and fed thru your fuel system. duh.

Chevy uplander ran out of gas and now it won't start

I had a similar issue with my uplander. They don't have a reset switch on the pump but if the vehicle is CLOSE to running out of gas and you happen to park on a grade where the front of the vehicle is pointing down then you may have trouble starting the vehicle until it level's out.

All I did was apply some gas pedal while starting and it started. Then I got to a gas station ASAP. If you're right out of gas you may want to add some to the tank and let the vehicle sit in the ignition on position without starting it for a minute or two to get some fuel back in the lines before starting it.
