Easy fix , just remove inside door cover, and install new handle, but handle broke because of bad hendge bushings making door hard to open, driver side ususlly first to brake then passenger door a year later. need body shop to replace door bushings

How do you open a car door if the door is closed and the door handel doesn't work ?

Try getting in from the other side and then opening the trouble door. This sometimes happens when the door wasn't closed properly, or the lock was activated with the handle pulled. It happens on both of my cars, one a Honda and the other an Oldsmobile.

My 2009 altima s driver's side door wont open from inside or outside thought door was frozen shut so pulled handle hard to try and open now cant open door

You will need to take inside door panel loose which is a little hard with door shut but it can be done and probably replace door Handel if the Handel it's self is not broke it's most likely just a little plastic clip that holds the rod to the lock

Inside door handel stop working outside works fine

The lever that connect the internal handle to the door lock is broken, either at the lock or at the handle and it will have to be replaced.
For that the door cover will have to be taken off and this is very complicated and if done incorrectly very easy to damage some other parts and fittings inside the door - if you have never done this before then it's time to take it to your local repair shop. It will cost you about $250 part and labor.

Follow the screws on the inside of the door. There will be several to find and then you can remove the inside door panel cover.

using small hook tools and tack pullers shaped like mini wonder bars, you can remove the door panel. once removed, you can fish around on the bottom middle of the door and pull the cable to unlatch the door.
