I would put a volt meter on the alternator and get someone to start the car. I suspect that once it starts the meter will not go to 14V right away. It will probably be around 11 or 12. Let the car run and see if it climbs up to 13.5 or 14 or if it stays low.
If there is any way to tighten the belt try that first and check it again. If there is no way to tighten the belt you'll have to replace the alternator. Hope this helps.

Hi,
sounds like either the bulb is going out or the headlight wiring is bad. You could try swapping the headlight bulbs, but easier to just replace the one. See if the plug for the headlight under the hood is burned @ all - would show a bad connection.
