Hyundai Lantra Immobiliser

I have a 97 Hyundai Lantra station wagon, and I couldnt start it yesterday, but the stereo etc was still working, it just wasnt turning over. My Dad was able to push start it, and once home we disconnected the battery, and put it on a charger over night. This morning, the car would not start again, stereo etc all working fine, it just would not turn over. There is a small red light to the right of the steering wheel which has been flicking on and off all day, and I believe this is something to do with the immobiliser. I have been told that the immobiliser needs resetting since the battery had been disconnected/reconnected. Can anybody please tell me how I go about getting the immobiliser reset - or, if there is some other issue I need to address. Any help very much appreciated!!

HELP i have a 2000 model hyundai lantra sportswagon which is fitted with an immobiliser and both remotes are broken. How can i bypass the immobiliser???

theres a socket you can use to reset the immobilizer. follow the steering shaft down, then under the dash, you will find the socket. plug the key switch with the button facing away from you, while the ignition is switched on.I'm pretty sure it doesnt matter if the remote is broken or not, as it just bridges the circuit, allowing you to start the car. hope this helps..

Torque wrench settings for 97 hyundai lantra 1.8

They use throw away bolts. One use only, so don't reuse your old ones. You will need new ones. The smaller bolts 1st torque setting 22Ft/Lbs and the larger 26ft/lbs, the 2nd torque setting 60 degrees both bolt sizes and the 60 degrees for the third.
