You only need to insert the key to the ignition switch and leave it for one minute then try to use the key again.

SOURCE: The remte control key is not responding with the car

Hi abdumi0f,

Firstly, open your glove box and make sure Valet Mode is not enabled, if it is not, follow these steps.

Step 1: Open drivers door and leave open.
Step 2: Lock and unlock the driver’s door using the power door lock switch on the door.
Step 3: Insert key into the ignition.
Step 4: Turn key to on position and return to off position. (IMPORTANT - use ON position NOT ACC position). Do this 3 times within 10 seconds. Leave key in the ignition.
Step 5: Open and close the driver’s door 3 times. (Door should be left open after this step).
Step 6: ECU should respond by locking and unlocking the doors.
Step 7: Press any button on remote #1 twice. ECU responds by locking and unlocking the car doors.
Step 8: Press any button on remote #2 (etc.) twice. Each time the ECU will respond by locking & unlocking the doors.
Step 9: Remove the key from the ignition and the ECU will respond a final time with a series of door locks and unlocks. You're done!

Hope this helps,

How do I reset the security system on a Mazda BT 50 CRD 3.0 2012 MODEL

There is not reset per say, what is going on here is a fault in the security system, that requires a scan tool to look into the cause, the problem here is the fault in most cases must be going on and present to detect it.

Flashing red dot on my dash for 2002 caravan and wont start

It sounds like the car is not recognizing the key. That red light is the anti-theft indicator. Sometimes due to batteries dying in the key fob or car itself this can happen. The car and key essentially loose track of each other. It can also be a problem with the vehicles control module. This is a situation where you are pretty much stuck with taking it to a Dodge dealership where they can hook it to a scan tool or reprogram a key, depending on what the exact issue is.

Programing garage door openers

Press the button on the garage door opener (red, green, or yellow) until the led starts to blink and within 10 seconds or so, ( I think it's actually 30 seconds) press the GDO control button on the remote and the opener should capture the signal and respond to it from then on. Any remotes that were set to control the opener will be wiped and the new one will be in control. There are instructions that came with the opener that show how to do this from the remote or the key-less entry. If you are talking about an in-car device then your vehicle manual may be needed too, but the main thing is to set the GDO to be looking for the code from the car remote and when you press the in-car remote the garage door should respond. If you have programmed a remote or key-less entry then it is about the same procedure.

Remot control key is not communicating with car at all.

It is possible that the receiving unit on the vehicle is not operating properly. Whether that means a broken wire, bad circuitry in the receiver, or other problems it could the case, BUT more often than not, the key/remote was exposed to some kind of magnetic or high power field, effectively remdering the unit useless. Strong magnets, electromagnetic fields or even staying to long on a department store demagnetizer could lead to these problems. Go to the dealer and be prepared to take the hit, a replacement coded key can run several hundred dollars, but unless you swapped the battery and happened to get a bad new battery, than the dealer is the only solution, I hope this brief explaination shed a little light for you in the future.

Programming the garage door opener

Homelink Garage Door Opener Programming Procedure:

The procedure described below was successfully applied to a 2005 Jaguar S-Type.

To begin with, several attempts were made using the programming instructions contained in my Jaguars owners manual. Though the procedure described in the owners manual was straight-forward and understandable, I was unsuccessful in getting the vehicles remote to make my garage door opener function. The particular garage door openers I have are both made by Genie. Both openers utilize the Rolling Code feature.

To begin with, be sure to clear previous codes on your Jaguars garage door opener by first turning (rotating) the ignition key to the I position (first notch). Next, simultaneously hold button 1 (left most button) and button 3 (right most button) down until the middle buttons red light changes from continuous on to a rapid flash. This process takes approximately 20-25 seconds. What follows is a two part process. In the first part, get your Genie portable remote and hold it near (approximately 3 inches away from) your Jaguars garage door opener console buttons. Choose which button on your Jaguars remote you wish to dedicate to your Genie door opener and simultaneously press and hold your Genie opener button and your Jaguars opener button. The red light on your Jaguars center button (button #2) will light up and within 1-2 seconds will begin to flash rapidly. You have just completed part 1 of the two part process.

Part two: Now it is time to utilize the Learn function on your Genie garage door opener. Press the Learn button on your Genie garage door opener. The red LED adjacent to the Learn button will begin to flash. You now have 30 seconds in which to program your Jaguars opener button. Using the same button you just used in the part 1 procedure, press and hold the same button for several seconds. As before, your Jaguars red light in the middle button will light up and within 1-2 seconds, it will flash rapidly. Release the button you are programming. Now, here is the key piece of information! Once again, press and hold that same button. Once again, the center buttons red light will flash rapidly. Release your newly programmed button. This procedure proved successful in my application. Here is what has just happened. The first time you pressed your Jaguars remote button tells the Genie opener that it exists and that it is a viable candidate for making your life easier (opening the damn door). The second time you press your Jaguars remote button confirms to the Genies rolling code that your Jaguars signal is legitimate and is to be trusted from then on.
