1997 GMC TRUCK IS MISSING AT ACCELERATION

THE PROBLEM EXISTED BEFORE AND AFTER I REPLACED THE CAP, ROTOR, WIRES, PLUGS, AIR-FUEL-TRANS FILTERS, o2 SENSORS AND THE FUEL RAIL WAS READING 55 PSI AT IDLE. I ALSO RAN INJECTOR CLEANER.

MISFIRING HAPPENS AT RANDOM AND NOT ALL OF THE TIME. DOES NOT HAPPEN WHEN IN PARK AND PUSHING ON GAS PEDAL.

I CHANGED THE NEW STOCK DISTRIBUTER CAP TO AN ACCEL PERFORMANCE CAP AND FIXED THE PROBLEM. ANOTHER PERSON RECOMMENDED THE MSD CAP AND SAID IT FIXED THEIR PROBLEM AND ACCEL WAS ALL I COULD FIND WITHOUT SPECIAL ORDERING AND IT WORKED. BEFORE SPENDING LOTS OF MONEY ON OTHER PARTS START WITH CAP. THE TROUBLE CODE WAS READING PO300. I ALSO RECOMMEND PERFORMANCE WIRES AND MAKE SURE THE CAP DOES NOT HAVE ALLUMINUM CONTACTS BECAUSE THE CURRENT JUMPS TO THE OTHER PRONGS THROUGH THE PLASTIC. HOPE THIS WORKS FOR YOU.

check for a faulty / blocked accelerator pump /circuit as this fits the lack of fuel squirt on acceleration description. Also check the timing of the ignition.

I have a 1994 gmc 1500 truck with a 5.7 v8.one fuel injector is pumping fuel and the other injector is not!!!!i swapped the injectors and its not the injector.

Go to the parts store and get a noid light for your truck, plug it into the injector electrical and turn the engine over to see if there is electrical pulse, also check the fuel pressure, the pump needs 9-13 psi with the engine running. you know if there is no pulse your going to need to check the wireing first. let me know

Problems with 96 jimmy missing out especially when the trans needs to shift. I replaced spark plugs, wires, rotor button, dist cap, oil and filter, fuel filter, idle position sensor. Starts and idles fine,...

This then could be a malfunction of the Computer system, have it checked out by someone that understands more then just reading a code shown on the meter....

When i accelerate from standing stop engine

Hello,
It sounds like you need a tune up. I would first check the coil wire and cap and rotor then the plugs and wires. It is also possible you need a fuel filter air filter and PCV valve.
I hope this helps.

sounds like a bad plug wire, take a squirt bottle while the car is running then spray the wires down they should start arcing, also when you replaced the fuel pump did you replace the fuel filter
