Likely it has more to do with the door that controlls the airflow. Which should be operated by vacum might check and make sure all thevacum lines are plugged in.

Does the gauge in the car show it warms up?

Either your thermosat is stuck open and not allowing the engine to get to operating temperature or your hot cold vent flap is stuck in the cold position in the heater duct  if the air is luke warm  then its most likely your thermostat 15 minutes of idle time should be more than enough to get to operating temp  if heat is still  luke warm replace thermostat

I have a 2005 mazda mvp. The rear heater works fine. The front is blowing cold air when the heater is on. What could be the issue?

Make sure your control settings are correct, you may have a blend door issue, stick your head under dash on both sides and move the hot to cold control and see if anything isnmoving

HEATER ISN'T BLOWING HOT AIR

Sounds like a restricted heater core. Remove the hoses and back-flush the heater core system with a water hose. You may want to do a complete cooling system flush while you're at it.

If you can't flush the heater core clean with a water hose, it may be time to replace.

Why would my heater blow out cool air when sitting still and then hot air when going down the road and then it's not all that hot

Try flushing or blowing high pressure air through the heater core lines. its sludge build up and need to be flushed through heater core only. check antifreeze fluid level. only put in straight antifreeze, do not mix. most people do not know what mixture should be, so be safe and add straight, it will not hurt it, i run 100% straight antifreeze and never had a problem or worry about it ever freezing and cracking my block, heads or radiator cracking.

1999 olds silhouette heat is warm when running but the gets cooler when idling also heater hoses have no pressure on them. I have checked coolant level added some. Checked for air in cooling system by...

The heater core could be clogged. If your antifreeze is orange , then it is Dexcool antifreeze which causes slime and sludge to build up in the cooling system. It can clog a heater core. My suggestion would be to drain and flush the entire cooling system with Prestone Super Flush. Put in a new thermostat while your at it. Refill the cooling system with a green antifreeze that is labeled compatible with aluminum engine parts and radiators.Do Not refill with Dexcool antifreeze.

once truck is warm check both heater core hoses to make sure they are both warm if not then check the cold water valve could be stuck shut not allowing coolant to travel in to heater core.

New heatercore but no heat flushed system out but still no heat the dash gets hot but very little heat comes out when on for awhile the fan works just blows cold air

Did you run engine from cold, with heater on when you refilled the system? Try again, rad cap off, with heater on, and let engine get up to operating temperature, make sure you have good flow through rad ,leave cap off, until rad fan comes on to cool returning coolant to rad at least twice. Give engine a little extra rev, for 5 seconds or so, every once in a while to make sure flow getting through heater core, and add coolant as necessary. See if that helps, as it may just be an airlock in system. If your cooling system has any bleed screws incorporated, crack them once in a while as well.

Heater blows cold air

maybe the heater matrix could be at fault, thats the bit that controls the temperature in the car.

Heater only blows cold air untill your at 60 MPH

Sounds like heater core still plugged,and/or has air in system.I have had good luck with back flushing ( rinsing in reverse of normal flow) with a mixture of cascade dish washing detergent and water. This ("new and improved" Dex-cool antifreeze/coolant) sure does gum up and eat certain gaskets. When you have it refilled find a mechanic that has a vacuum operated filler. These are the greatest way to refill with no air pockets. Also could be the temperature blend door being incorrectly opened/shut though I doubt it.Hope this helps and please rate me!!

Disconnect the heater hoses from the water pump and the intake manifold. Get a compressor and blow out the hose (put the air hose into the the hose that came off the mainfold. then flush the system and replace the antifreeze.

Olds silhouette heater blows cold air

as long as the engine temperature is normal, i would suspect a clogged heater core, the dex-cool antifreeze is notorious for building up deposits in cooling system. have heater core flushed first to see if it makes any difference
