Question about 1989 Toyota Cressida
1989 TOYOTA CRESSIDA SPARK PLUG HOUSING AND PLUG WELLS. I HAVE OIL IN THE HOUSING AND AROUND SPARK PLUGS AND INSIDE WELL HOUSING.IiF I REMOVE SPARK PLUGS OIL WILLFLOW INTO INTO THE CUMBUSTION CHAMBER WHERE IGNITION TAKES PLACE CAUSE BURNT OIL TO GO THROUGH CATALTIC CONVERTER AND OUT THE TAIL PIPE. SO WHAT DO THINK THE PROBLEM IS?
The 7MGE has 2 separate valve covers/gaskets with 8 screws holding each cover that will loosen over time.
Find the phillips screws holding on the covers and retighten snugly by hand do not overtighten!
Pull plug boots/wires by the boot not the wire and use paper towels or rags on a long screwdriver etc to absorb the oil from the wells.
Carefully clean plug boots with spray brake cleaner (avoid spraying anything but the boot) and let dry.
Apply 100% silicone grease to inner boot before reinstalling to allow future removal without damage.
If your engine is particularly dirty you may need to remove the covers first and clean all mating surfaces then reinstall.

You definatly need to replace your Spark Plug Tube Seals. Its not very difficult to do yourself. They should cost you about 4 dollars each at your local auto store.
If this is not fixed soon, it will cause more problems. Your O2 sensors will not read correctly because they will be coated in carbon.
