Question about 2000 Ford Focus

1 Answer

My 2000 Mitsubishi Galant was recently worked on and the battery was disconnected and it effected my radio, because it has anti-theft on it. Now it reads OFF because we attempted to enter the code in but we were wrong. We found the correct code and have it but we can't enter it because it just says OFF. Please help!

Stereo wont come on

It's probably not a fuse problem. If you got a new battery or your battery went dead or was unhooked, that will make the Galant radio reset and quit working. You have to contact your dealer (or any Mitsubishi dealer) and get the radio code for that car from them. If they don't know you or have you on file as the buyer, you'll have to prove you're the owner. (It's an anti-theft device.) Then you put in the code they give you and the radio works!

Where to find the radio fuse for a 2000 mitsubishi galant

you should have received an anti-theft card with a 4 digit code with the car, and the manual tells you how to use the code. if you have display, it is not a fuse problem. you need this code any time battery power is lost. if you dont have code, you will have to go thru dealer:(

My car just shut off on me as i pulled into work this morning and wouldn't restart. timing belt is ok. all fuses and relays ok. i disconnected the battery to (hopefully) clear any codes. still wouldn't...

You will need to get the trouble codes from the computer, which you have now cleared. They should be regenerated with your attempts to start the car.
Your radio has an anti theft device in it, which was cleared when you disconnected the battery, you need to enter the code to reactivate it.
Not sure what you mean by "some sort of electrical noise".

the stereo may have connection with your anti theft device, drive your car to the dealer and they can reset the device for you at a minimal charge. this should resolve these issues. Good luck

My car recently had work done to the body. When I got my car back, the radop didn't work... all it said was code. I put the wrong code in three times and now it says "off". I have the right code now......

have you tried un-hooking the battery cables for a few mins? or un-plugging the radio from the back of it.. this is the anti-theft mode and will need to be reset..
