when you say stopped running, does that mean it was running then all of a sudden stopped and started doing this everytime you tried to crank it? Or that you turned it off, left it for a while then came back and it started doing this?

make sure the battery cables are tight and clean. what kind of sound does it make if any, like a single click or rapid clicking.

Help me please I have a 94 Pontiac Grand Am SE. I jt bought it an put a new battery in it an put a new serpentine belt on it. I went to go to start it an nothing happens no clicking or anything everything...

Turn the key to the run position. Check the dash to see if the security light is flashing. If it is, leave the key in the on position till the light stops flashing. (this may take ten minutes) When the light stops flashing, turn the key to the off position. Then start the car. Make sure the head lights are turned off so that you do not kill the battery.

97 chrysler concord. wont turn over, has nothing to do with battery, ran fine stopped at store, did not turn over afterward, all lights worked. Next morning started right up, started the next 10 times,...

When it won't start I'm guessing you can not hear the starter turning the engine over. If so when it is acting up it should be pretty easy to see if there is power on the small wire at the starter with the key in the crank position. If there is power there and there is power on the larger wire at the starter, again with the key in the crank position, than the starter is the issue. These are also known to have corrosion issues at the connections on the battery. It wouldn't hurt to give those a peak or even clean up those connections.

Turn key all light come on as a normal start. but when key is turned nothing happens. no noise nothing.. keep trying and eventully starts.Sometimes 3 or 4 times.. Sometimes 10 min. later. it can be days...

You didnt list the type of car this is, the most common thing that causes this is the starter, i just had a saturn, the customer had the same problem we told her it may be the starter but cant be 100% sure until it actted up, she didnt want to replace it unless we were sure, so we kept and drove the car around for 5 days and finally the last day it didnt start and it was the starter , same problem turn key and nothing no noise and no start, i would have the starter replaced and go from there, its a mater of time before the car just wont start, hope this is helpful.

Just got my ignition replaced with a used ignition and since then now and then I turn my key and everything in the car and outside turns on. Gas pump kicks in and everything then I go to start my engine...

The first thing to do is to check for power at the starter, the big wire should have power at all times then have someone turn the key and hold it in the crank postion and test for power at the small connection at the starter if theres power then you have a bad starter, if theres no power then check the ignition swith and the wiring to in and see if it throws power in the crank spot and last if that checks out check the neutral safety switch, make sure power is flowing through that in park or neutral.
