Question about 1993 Jaguar XJ6

1 Answer

Rear Strut I am purchasing a 1993 Jaguar XJ6. It has only one issue and I would like to fix it myself if possible. The rear passenger side tire is leaning, and I have been told that it is the rear strut that needs replaced. I have replaced struts on other cars but have been told it is more difficult on this car. Does anyone have any insight into the repair procedure for this issue?

hello: I have had a rear wheel/tire leaning and it was a worn inner bearing that had failed. The repair was relatively inexpensive about 2 hours labor and less than a 100.00 in parts,(inner and outer bearings, 2 seals). There is also a sensor ring inside the hub and you should double check that to make you get an accurate reading on the anti-lock system...Those sensors are difficult to get out and expensive as new..Unless the strut is broken completely, I would be surprised if that is causing the lean....But it should be easy to hear a worn bearing or a bearing that is failing...hope that helps

81 jaguar is leaking water from top rear passenger side of engine. could it be a freeze plug?

if it is a V-12, it is more likely a leaking head gasket or cracked head.
Before jumping to that conclusion, make sure it isn't just your heater core leaking. (This is not an easy fix but much easier than a head gasket on a V-12... and it can be temporarily bypassed).
Best of luck to you!

Need to replace fuel pump on a jaguar xj6 soveriegn

It is under the car at passenger/driver side. Accessible from underneath and by removing the left rear tire. (Jack it up and its much easier).
2 small nuts hold it in place in its collar. Awkward nut not too difficult....

Wheel shake and brake judder

what speeds are you obtaining and braking

I would think that you tires are out of balanced whether it be dabre in the rim or an improper balancing job
some cars can be fine up to 40 but when you step up the speed more the more the tires become unbalanced. making the servere shakes.

1995 Jag XJ6 Rear Issues...need to fix ASAP.

My 1994 Vanden Plas makes the same noise. I know I need rear shocks. You do also!! Have the rear shocks replaced. Bilstein part number B46 1858 or Koni part  number 30 1377. Actually the Bilstein is the better shock and less expensive.
