It could be any number of things. The place to start is with the check engine light. Find a local parts store that will read the diagnostics or if you have a OBD II reader, read the diagnostic code and correct the indicated problem. If the car still has any warranty, get it to the shop right away.

1.Check oil level.
2. check oil level
Neon's are bad for having a head oil leak in the first 40,000 to 80,000 miles. Most repair shops wont even tell you if you do have one because they dont want to get invloved, Not enough profit in heavy eng. work

try grabbing it by the top drip rail and just shakee up and down a little. Sometimes there is back flow in the vapor tube that recycles the gas fumes. Sometimes pumps have more pressure. Giving it a little shake should help and give you alittle exercise too.

1996 GMC Sonoma Acceleration problem!

If the check engine light is on I would have that checked first. The trouble codes in the computer will help point you in the right direction for troubleshooting.
You could have a sticking fuel injector, or an ignition problem, or both.

I have a toyota Camry 2000 and the check engine light is on and the steering wheel is shaking when driving over 40 mph

The shaking may be a separated tire.

If the check engine light is on there will be a code. Have the computer scanned for trouble codes to see why the light is on.

I am smelling gas but see no gas leaking

Is your check engine light on? Fumes rise, so if the leak is in the top of the tank or the filler neck, this would allow the fumes to escape, smelling of gas, and tripping your check engine light.

I have a pontiac g6 that i just bought its a 2007 and it told me earlier to check my gas cap which i did then my check engine light came on and wont come off we went to auto zone and the machine said that...

An Evap leak in a car is usually fuel fumes leaking from the evap system. The purpose of the system is to expel pressure built in the gas tank, collect the fumes, and then at the right moment, purge the fumes into the intake to be burned. On newer cars, a leak in the system will set off the check engine light. The leak doesn't have to be big... in fact, it can be tiny. As in, can't see with the naked eye, tiny. A smoke machine is usually used to find the leak. A popular cause of an evap code is a loose gas cap, as the gas tank and filler neck itself are part of the system.

The pipe should be reattached with a steel pipe and secured very tight.A small leak you wont see.Thats because the gas evaporates very quickly,

Gas smell in 97 q45

You need to bring the vehicle back to the garage that worked on it asap and have them check it out. It sounds like they are responsible since the gas fumes started when the fuel was changed. Most are inside the gas tank. There is a lock ring on the tank w/ a gasket that must be removed for access. Chances are they either didn't tighten the lock ring sufficiently, or the gasket is crimped or out of place, allowing the fumes to escape. Leave the car outside until you bring it to the garage, as fumes can collect if parked inside and cause an explosion it a spark is present-like turning on a light switch or starting the car. If the reason for the fumes is as I described, the garage should fix it at no extra charge to you.

You have a really bad misfire going on. i would not drive the car but if you get it towed you can get the engine codes read which will give you more of an idea on whats going on. Otherwise its just a guess.
