Question about 2005 Ford Ranger
Ok what you can do is run some automatic transmission fluid in the crankcase but I would not let it run for more than a half hour and then I would change it afterwords. Slick 50 does not work but other detergents like Marvel Mystery Oil will work and should subside the rapping or the stuck lifters in about one or two weeks. Your problem is bad valve lash and a stuck lifter will make the tightness of the valve lash to be wron or the torque. Kerosene is an old trick but it's kinda really bad for your motor becuase it drys all of your oil seals in your head and the little grommets inside fuel injectors. If all else fails your going to have to check your camshaft. I wish you the best of luck.
