SOURCE: 93 Saab 900 manual transmission is seizing

check the fluid ( reg oil 5 w 30 or 10 w 30 )by checking the check point when the car is cold ( not run for 6 hours) on the passenger side bold under the exhaust manifold. I think it is 19 mm. you should have 3 quarts. Also there is a filter on the rear cover that has a magnetic trap that needs to be replaced. Also you need the rear gasket if you are taking that panel off. dont reuse paper gaskets! they will always fail.

in that transmission shift gear first, then give gas. it is not very forgiving.

If It Is Still There Then I Would Take It In To Your Saab Dealer For A Diagnostic Check

Where to add gear oil to manual 2002 kia sportage

For a manual transmission, an SAE 75W-30 transmission oil is recommended. For an automatic transmission, Dextron II E or M-III is recommended. The 2002 Kia Sportage hold 2 quarts of transmission fluid. It is recommended that these fluid levels be checked every six months and changed or refilled as needed. The fill spout should be on the left side of the engine block and the fluid will be red in color.

I can not locate where to check or add transmission fluid to my 2002 Volvo c70 convertible. Help!

Some cars don't have a transmission oil dipstick. You are just supposed to replace the transmission fluid at how many miles the manual tells you.Check the manual to see when the transmission fluid needs to be replaced.

I am changing the oil in the manual transmission of my 2002 jeep wrangler sport. i have drained it and am trying to put the fluid in. the manual calls for 3.5 qts. i can't get 2 in without it pouring out...

Let it sit for awhile because it takes cold oil a while to leak down to fill everything. Did you get 3.5 quarts of oil out when you drained? Just add as much as you can, wait awhile, check your dipstick, and add more until you can get it all in the fill hole. With a cold engine and cold oil, it takes a little while.

Where is the transmission fluid located? how to get a manual for free?

There is a transmission dip stick on the side of the engine, this is used to check the trans fluid level. The engine oil dipstick has a large diameter plastic cap, and is on the left/driver's side of the car (in North America); the trans dipstick has two notches at the bottom when removed and a label telling the fluid to use. Where is it located to add transmission fluid in 2004 saab

You have to unbolt the distick to check the fluid. Its on the lower, front side of the drivers side, left of the battery and straight down, behind 2 hoses. My dipstick is green (Aero) and is easier to remove from under the car.

1988 Saab 900 8v Cannot locate transmission fluid checkfill point

multi-part answer!
one fan is for A/C cooling, other is for radiator. Neither come on until engine is warm. (Check the Townsend saabmaster site at http://townsendimports.com/Web/entry/tech_doc_systems.htm for reasons why you should use low temp fan switch and thermostat)

The auto trans dip stick IS in the front, by the ignition coil. For more positive identification it should have two notches at the bottom, on opposite sides, and a label attached at the top indicating the fluid type to use. Fill between them is about 1/2 litre.

How do you add transmission fluid?

If this is for a 2002 and up explorer with the 4.6, there isn't a dipstick. It is a complicated deal. The vehicle has to be running much like the old ones, but a plug must be removed from the pan. Behind the plug is a upwards tube that you, believe it or not, squirt oil up into until it runs generously back at you. then it is full.

Crazy huh?
