Question about 1992 Pontiac Bonneville

1992 Pontiac Bonneville SE, steam in passenger compartment?

I've recently come across steam coming into the passenger compartment, the windshield steams up like a mirror when taking a shower. I've experienced about a quart to a half gallon coolant loss daily.

Yesterday I changed the theromostat, the O-ring was severely eaten and corroded, but now, the heater will not come on at all. I attempted to drive it to work today, and the cabin filled with steam again. I've pulled the blower motor and it smells burnt, but it does rotate. Any advice????

I've thought about the heater core, but that doesn't explain to me why the the heater blower was working yesterday, and then after replacing the thermostat, the blower motor completely stops working. Or would it?

You need a heater core for starters...probally could use a full system flush also. Check condition of all hoses and replace as needed....also check radiator condition and replace if necessay. I have found that once one problem occurs in the cooling system it's a good idea to make sure everything is in good shape or you will wind up chasing leaks everywhere...good luck...

The blower may have become contaminated with anti-freeze that has been leaking from the heater core and shorted out. It could also just be the blower fuse has blown due to the blower shorting out. Run a fused test wire from the battery + terminal directly to the blower and see if it come to life. If it does'nt you need a new motor and probally a fuse....hope this helps....good luck

Replace horn fuse in fuse panel of 1992 pontiac bonneville

Your fuse box is located on the driver side under the dash board. Up above where your brake and gas pedal are located. There should be a plastic cover that can be snapped off to reveal all of your fuses and on the inside of this plastic cover there should be a diagram of the fuses that are in use.

try the relay, I have problems with my bonneville taking too much power for the blower and the relay melts. You can pick them up for 16-20 dollars. this also causes my air not to come out.
