SOURCE: 91 LEGACY STARTED RUNNING ROUGH

The cylinders are numbered as on the spark pack you changed. You might have done better putting the seafoam in the tank as an injector cleaner. Not sure why you changed so many parts, you seem to know how to get the codes from test connector lead hookup and the blink pattern. You might also want to check the fuel rail pressure and the crank and cam angle sensors. Before replacing the injector, swap the #4 injector with the adjacent one and see it the code moves with the injector or stays put. If the code stays on #4, then check the injector wiring, if it moves clean or replace the injector.

SOURCE: misfire cylinder 00 mazda protage

Could be a defective plug or clogged injector What cylinder was IDd. Isolate the problem cylinder swap the plug from a good cylinder see if the miss moves with the plug,if not try having the injectors cleaned. That should get the zoom zoom back.

SOURCE: MISFIRING ON CYLINDER 1 VW POLO 1.4 3CYLINDER

I have changed a few cylinder heads under warranty for this type of problem. The exhaust valve guides wear, this causes the exhaust valve to seat badly, giving low compression. if one cylinder compresion reading is more than about 50 psi below the others, then this warrants head removal. It is quite a job, due to the fact that the camshft id chain driven. If you are up for it then once the head is removed, poor liquid into the exhaust ports and see if it leaks out through any of the exhaust valves.

Timing settings on my vw polo 1.4i 2000 model classic

Hi Sheldon are the breaker points clean, and are they opening when the cam comes to the high point. There should be a gap of 1-1.5 mm when the cam is at its highest. A quick way To check for spark turn the engine until the points are fully closed then hold a lead with a plug in it to the cylinder head. Then with a screwdriver manually open and close the points. Do this with the ignition on and you should see a spark. Good Luck.

Where is the gas filter located? please the van sputters when I give it gas. changed air filter. changed gas companys. still no help, worst when wet. thanks in advance

This sounds like it needs the plugwires or coilboots replaced, the ignition system has sparkplug wires or it has coilpacks on each cylinder, it sounds like they or misfirimg, you can have the computer scanned for codes to find out what cylinder is misfiring, many autopart stores will scan the computer for free,

Won't start turns over getting fuel and fire

make sure you are getting spark through the sparkplug wires. a sparkplug tester is the easiest way, or take a wire off one of the plugs try starting it and have another person watch the wire to see if a spark is coming off the wire to the sparkplugNOTE set the wire close to the sparkplug but leave a small gap between plug and wire so you can see the sparks. if not getting spark check all fuses first, otherwise the coil could be bad. or it could have coilpacks and one could be badNOTE every coilpack has two studs for wire, sometimes only one side of coilpack works if so it is bad both sides haft to work.

#4 cylinder randon misfire

It's not so much a random misfire when it's always the same cylinder.

If you did not have this problem before you changed the "tower", you might want to remove it, look at it to make sure everything looks like how it should, reconnect it and make sure it connects to the spark plug. If you have a coilpack, try swapping with another coilpack if possible.

If you havent replaced the sparkplug, try doing so to see if its that simple.

If you've had this problem going on before you changed the tower (not sure what you mean by that exactly), then it might be something else. It could be a fuel injector. There's a few ways to test it, one is to disconnect the electrical plug and see if it makes a difference (while running). No difference = bad injector or no spark. Be sure to check that you have a spark before you check the injector to help isolate the problem.

You could try swaping the #4 injector with another and see if you can cause a different cylinder to miss. If it does, that's your culpret.
