Question about 1998 Ford Windstar
I was just given a 1998 Ford Winstar Gl about 2 weeks ago. The only thing that isnt working on the minivan is the sliding door won't open and the fuel gauge is broke. Then suddenly late last week the passenger side window just quit working. Now with the window I was curious if there was some way maybe "unlock" window if I somehow had "locked" it. I dont have a window lock control that I am aware of the location. :) The fuel gauge and sliding door, I was wondering if they are fixable without have to take it into a repair shop. If I have to take to a repair shop, is there a way to guess an estimate of the average repair cost for both of them. Thank you for your tiime and I hope you will be able to help me out with these minor issues.
The windows motor has died, the slider has a loose lock/unlock lever, usually held in place by a small plastic clip. The gas guage has a loose connection, or a bad sending unit. The sending unit is in the gas tank. You can probably fix both doors yourself, but the gauge will most likely require the tank to be removed. I would figure a few hundred to fix it.
