A8 2004 Navigation system not active

Could be loaded with CD's already. Or some use a Navigation disk and may not load until the Navigation disk is in place. Another Expert may have more to say about this.

What is the make and the model you are using for the navigator ?

Is that with every disc?.....get cd cleaner and run it,will clean reader eye.Might just work.

Your Navigation disc usually is in the CD player. Most require the First Disc to be the Navigation disc. Now if this disc was removed or if someone changed the position of #1 disc and inserted something else, then that is why you have your message.

It is also possible that removing the Battery from the car may cause it to lose the programming in the Navigation. It may simply need the Navigation disc to be reread.

There is an article on eBay by a1benz about this. He claims the factory fitted Navigation system can not work in the UK or Europe and he fits replacement systems. He says that CD player will only play DVD's if they are navigation discs and will not play DVD movie discs (Is this due to the Region settings on the player perhaps?)
It is also worth noting that the TV system is NTSC not PAL so anything you try and plug into it will need to have the output set to NTSC!
I have found a supplier offering English Navigation Discs for v6 and v7 of the Nissan XANAVI system but unfortunately I don't know what Elgrand system version is.

I own a 2002 lexus LS 430 with navigation system. The radio plays, but the volume and function on cd player does not work. The volume is real low and cant be turned up at all.
