Hi There. My ABS light came on while driving yesterday. I did not notice any performance change with the braking. But, what could this mean? How serious, costly could it be? 1995 Odyssey.

Hi. Sorry I never came back to post a solution to my problem posted earlier. The ABS light had come on. A ran a full check of the car system the next day out in nice daylight. Found everything OK, except, for the cause... the main breakfluid container had the lid not fully tightened (it click in).
That fixed it.

If SRS light comes it means you need to check out your air bag. it needs to be checked after every 10 years.

SRS and ABS lights are on the dash??

Is it worth risking being in an accident with no air bag?

When SRS comes on, the air bags are turned off, until you
find a problem & resolve it

ABS is another unrelated issue, have to do with the braking
system, should at least check for codes & see what's up

In my world everything has to work as when the vehicle was new,
regardless of age,not counting the radio I seldom use

Honda odyssey 1999 the srs light comes on anytime while driving lately i just found out that if i hit my hand on top of the dashboard close to the speedo meter it goes off.

get it fixed. Air bags save lives.
get it fixed by any shop , with ASE labels on sleeve is top techs.
the operators guide says to do that. lost it?

and is correct.
if you are big time DIY guy? then buy the fSM and the scan tools
for SRS. and do the tests.
you do or they do , its a simple choice.
for sure it needs repair..
and dont hit the dash, as that might deploy the air bags and cause injury. if you must then do far from dash, with a 2x4 board well beyond arms length.. the can be lethal. air bags.
Google that and read the horrors of DIY mech.

1995 oddessy abs light is on

ABS failures are common in the Honda Accord and the Honda Odyssey, especially during the 1995-1997 years. You will find that your ABS light will come on intermittently and then go out. Finally, the light will come on and stay on until the system is replaced. Honda has been charging owners about $1500 to replace the modulator and accumulator. Honda maintains that this is not a problem that is widespread. The Honda owners' notes show that the problem usually happens betwee n 50,000 miles and 100,000 miles. There is a buzzing associated with the system failing, too.--------------
try bleeding the ABS brake pump and check. You must bleed the abs pump, then reset the abs computer by removing the ABSB2 fuse.--------------

ABS light been on for few days in my honda odyssey 1995, nothing wrong with my brakes i checked them, plz tell me wats wrong with them??

it could be a MULTITUDE of problems - for a faulty sensor - to a bad ABS module ETCETC.

Take the vehicle to any national parts chain and have them read the OBD codes.

This will tell you exactly wht is going on and causing the light.

SRS light is on - what does that mean? 95 HOnda Odyssey

Here's a quick check list for most common cost of SRS / Air bag problem.

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger seat belt buckles

Dirty contacts on seat belt connectors (under seats)

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger sides weight sensors (under seat)

Seat covers

Weight on passenger seat
(Example: grocery package trigger SRS / Air Bag light on the way home.)

I recommend you to pass an vacuum over the contacts and use CRC electronic parts cleaner to rule out connectivity problem.

I DO NOT recommend disconnecting the negative battery connector to clean the code(s).

Without the code(s) the dealer will takes "BILLABLE" time to reproduce the problem.

SRS Light Came on After new Raio Installation

SRS i presume is the Supplemental Restraint System (airbags).Yes,it is possible the installer disturbed or pulled on some wires dislodging a connector, disabling an airbag,or something along those lines.A quality scan tool can access the air bag computer/controller and pull diagnostic trouble codes. The codes will tell you exactly what is malfunctioning, driver side, passenger side,etc..Then the diagnsotic route can be followed to make necessary repairs. If the SRS wasn't on before the repairs,i would go back to the store that installed the stereo and insist this light wasn't on before the repairs.Where i work, before EVER laying hands on the vehicle for repairs, any and all lights illuminated on the dash are documented on the repair order,as well as many other vehicle functions or damage.Scrapes, dents, missing hub caps,a/c functioning or not...many many things are documented before repairs begin.

SRS Light came on after New Radio INstallation

he could have tapped into the power line for the airbag system or loosened the wire during the installation. if you went to a professional, take it back to him/her. but, on the off chance that it is a cowinkidink have it checked by someone that can access the airbag system. body shops are good for that purpose because they see that type of work from accident cases.
