My A/C stopped working a month ago. I brought it to the shop and they said it was a bad compressor. I swapped out the compressor and tried to recharge the system but the new compressor does not engage. Any ideas on why?

Hi,
a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

It will be on the front LH side of engine by the timing chain cover, with wire attached. It looks like this...I hope this helps.

1999 ford expedition - needs a timing belt, but mechanics keep telling me that it has a chain and not a belt. I just need it done and want to know stuff like - how much time it takes, how much it cost's,...

No engine used in the Expedition has a timing belt, they all have timing chains, timing chains never have to be replaced unless they fail or the engine is being rebuilt. On this engine replacing the timing chains for each of the two camshafts (2) cost about $500.00
