My radio & cig ligither just went out and the fuses under the hood are not clearly marked

    Hi,

I recently bought a used 94 XLE w/ the dome light out (didnt notice til after) and the cigarette lighter missing (didnt think much of it...dont smoke) a few days later I noticed the "dinger" that should happen when you leave the lights on doesnt work (and ran the battery out on me and I had to jump it).

Used the cigarette ligther to charge my phone (it worked) and then a few days later came out one morning to find the speakers to the stereo not giving sound (not even a hiss when cranked). The stereo still worked (turned on etc) but no sound. I then left the lights on AGAIN (I know I know....Im never using them again!) and when I jumped it again now the stereo doesnt light up at all AND the cig lighther doesnt work either.

Looked at the fuses by the left kneeler, and the one marked CIG/STEREO looked fine when I pulled it. Replaced it anyways, and no success. Any/all thoughts would be appreciated. How can I find a shop that is good at electrical problems? Ive read some nightmares online about people getting the run-around w/ elec work. Thanks in advance!

The fuse that you are looking for is not under the hood.

Open the coin tray on the left side of the driver's side of the dash. Lift it up, to defeat the clips that hold it in. There you will see the dash fuses. The fuse Identification is on the back of the coin box.

This should help you out. A FixYa rating (4 blue diamonds) would be greatly appreciated.

My windows and radio went out on me yesterday after putting air in my tire through the cigarette plug

Replace the fuse as the cig plug and the radio must be on the same circuit.

The plug-ins dont work and was wondering what could be the problem and if a fuse is the problem what fuse exactly is it?

Its generally labelled the cig fuse in the drivers door pillar fuse panel. Some models have 2 fuses the other marked aux for the optional power outlets. It should be in the same panel. Later models are under the hood fuse panel (still marked cig).

The radio/clock dash light on my 2004 matrix are out! ...solution?

The 15 amp dome fuse is in the fuse box under the hood and the 15 amp CIG fuse is in the lower finish panel up under the dash on the drivers side. These are needed for the radio. The above fuses plus the 15 amp Gauge fuse in the box with the dome fuse under the hood are needed for the clock.

I also have clock removal instructions at my website www.autoclockrepair.com

Fuses

you have checked the fuse box check thre accessory fuse , they bundle up all your items in one fuse is usually a 25 amp fuse. there might be another fuse box under the hood do some searching and use a test light to see if the fuses are good or bad.
