Hi
The code 1131 is an 02 sensor. It is the sensor which is Bank 1 sensor 1. The sensor is located when you stand in front of the car it is on the right hand side - that is Bank 1 and it is the first sensor.
Please let me know if this helped.

That code I do believe is the oxygen sensor. It sounds like you may have a plug wire crossed on it. I would check the firing order and make sure it is right and also check the vacum hoses.

Do i need to have my 2004 dodge intrepid anti theft code reset through a dealership if the heads and head gaskets were replaced? the entire top of the engine ws taken apart adn put abcl together.

i would disconnect the battery. removing both the positive and negative battery terminals. with both ends disconnected, hold the two terminals together for about 10 seconds. this will proform a hard reset on most chrysler vehicles. also, if this doesnt work, try turning the key to the on position, and then proforming the hard reset procedure.

These engines have different size push rods for the exhaust valve, did you mix them up by mistake, that is a common problem, i am almost positive that exhaust push rods are a little longer than the intake ones, good day, let me know.

Where is the head gasket located at on a 1994 grand marquis

The head gasket (in your case gaskets) is located on the top of the engine block under the engine cylinder head which is under the Camshaft cover which is the very top of the engine. This car is a V8 engine so it has 2 heads and 2 head gaskets, one on each side of the engine. It is a very expensive job to replace head gaskets.

Have you checked for vaccume leaks?
You've got lots of parts in there, Has the problem been the reason you have replaced all of those, or did it come up while doing some of the repairs?

Deville concours oil pressure problem

Before putting any engine back together when doing head gaskets, it is always advisable to have the heads and block checked for warpage and cracks. (don't know if you did or not). Additionally, I try to find the fattest head gaskets available, to provide a bit more cushion. At the point you are at, You need to see if there is any coolant in the oil (likely), then try to find out which side it's coming from, so you don't have to remove both heads again.
Other option is to re-torque heads, going over factory value by about 5pounds, to see if the head will pull down. (possible but not definite)
Other option is to send it to the scrapyard...I have often noted that once overheated, those engines become a "rolling problem factory", therefore I would not think it was a terrible idea.
Or, you might want to experiment and try one of those exotic block sealers that are available...may be interesting to see if it works or not.
Sad part is that if the manufacturers would use a better grade of aluminum and put some zinc back into iron castings, most cracks and warpage could be held to a rarity...nice dream isn't it?
Good luck, whatever choice you make!!
