All functions on control stick work normal except when in off position wipers remain on with vehicle on. If I try to balance and hold the position between off and lowest delay then wipers will turn off. any ideas? thanks

All these components are controlled by a computerized module. You can try disconnecting/reconnecting the battery as this may reset the module. If no results you will have to have this modules operation checked for any codes/failures with a scan tool to possibly pont you in the right direction
These wipers employ two switches: the switch inside the vehicle (on/off/intermittent), and the park switch built into the wiper control module which is part of the wiper motor assy. One or both have malfunctioned.
Back window wiper switches/levers are tricky, especially on German-brand automobiles. Just make sure that the lever/switch is on 'O' or OFF. I overlooked this once on an Opel Astra, and mistook it for the signal lever. Move the switch to all positions to ensure that there is no damage to the physical contacts or electronic controllers of the wiper. If the wiper cycles even in off position, the controller or motor will need to be replaced.
