Why wont it start, it just clicks, and the alarm goes off

Hi Donna,

Try opening your hood, and tightening your battery cables.

You may need to give them a good twist. If this doesn't work, try disconnect the battery completely, taking some sand paper, sanding the battery terminals a bit, reconnecting the battery and USE A WRENCH to get them good and tight- not just by hand.

Your car should start up fine without the alarm going off now.

MAKE SURE CAR DONT HAVE A ALARM.WHEN YOU HAVE A AFTER MARKET ALARM AND BATTERY GOES DEAD OR IS DISCONNECTED,SOMETIMES IT ARMS ITSELF N WILL NOT CRANK.

My 1980 ford bronco wont start. replaced solenoid and starter and it dose the same thing. wont crank wen i disconnect and reconnect battery and i try to start it all it dose is it clicks and everything...

it sounds like the battery has a problem with it and needs replacing,as you try to start the truck it pulls all the voltage out of the battery(which is very little in the battery)causing the clicking sound you hear, make sure the battery cable connections are tight and clean, both the terminals and cable ends.it takes very little voltage to power up a radio or lights and they probably stop working shortly after they are turned on.

1998 Camry, turn ignition to On kills electical system

This is a Direct Fault Caused by the Alarm System Starter Kill. Do you have an Alarm Override Switch???? You may need the Dealership to Reset the Alarm if not.

Engine will not crank, cannot get security alarm to reset

check the fuses for the alarm you might have blown them which would not let you start the car. word of advice never mess with car alarms and never jump your lawn mower with your car.
