The cheapest solution is to check the fuel injectrors (use good fuel injectro cleaner). If no help check the distributor cap (best is replace), wiring (replace), spark plugs (replace). In most cases the reason is distributor cap. If no help check the fuel filter and fuel pump
Good Luck

Hello Lubie...

I would STRONGLY recommend you get your codes read...

Finally my codes... said the OXYGEN SENSORS were complaining... OBD... DTC
(on-board-diagnostic... DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES)

So... of course I changed the... OXYGEN SENSORS.

The "NEW" OXYGEN SENSORS complained just as well...

I have subsequently learned the "SENSORS" are
just doing their job...

Jeep cut off if take foot off accelarater

The idle speed is controlled electronically by an idle speed control motor, it may not be functioning correctly. It may need to be cleaned or replaced and the throttle body cleaned as carbon builds up around the throttle butterfly. A vacuum leak can also cause stalling so looking at the car first with a scan tool which may show critical information to help diagnose what is wrong. You can generally have it scanned cheaply or even for free at a local auto parts store which may narrow down your problem. Let me know what you find.
