Car won't start

Drove home OK. This morning, the car is totally unresponsive. Neither key fob does anything - not even the panic button works. The car is completely dead electrically. Any ideas?

Either an interior light or head lights were left on all night, or there's a dead short in the electrical system, or... the battery completely failed internally such as a weak spot or defect in the plates. At any rate, it all obviously points to the battery. Replace the battery.

Just want to clarify. If you found that the lights were left on, try having the battery charged first. That could be all that happened. Once the battery is fully charged, you can have the battery and charging system tested. If/when a battery gets this far gone, you won't even be able to jump start the car unless you leave the jumper cables connected for a LONG time. Also if the battery is more than 4 or 5 years old, you're about due for a new one. Please let us know how this turns out. Thank you.

My cars panic alarm goes off by itself.

possible -but all these fancy electronics are beyond the realms of most people and you need the factory to reset and diagnose the fault .even us mechanics have to admit defeat with faults like this and return vehicle to the dealer then charge for the time involved in taking and collecting the car ,take it straight to the dealer yourself

Panic mode started out of the blue

BAD FOB?
or battery weak in fob?. replace them?
always have 2 fobs, so you can isolate problems and not get stranded.

is running engine charge lamp out?

or the button on the fob, panic, is bad,
to prove this take the battery out of FOB in use
and use the spare fob with fresh battery.
this proves its the fob, see how?

Just won't start! fuel pump ok, filter ok, psi ok, turns over just won.t start

You'll have to figure out if it is a fuel or ignition problem.
Is the check engine light on ? Have you checked for trouble codes ?
It could be a relay, the ignition module, coil, or a list of other things.
Even the fuel pump.
If this is a vortec V6 it takes at least 60psi to cover the injectors.

Won't start, could it be fob or engine?

Try not using the fob at all open the door with the key. And start the jeep if it works without issue then its the fob. If its still not working correctly remove the battery from the fob and try again(since if it was damaged could be sending the signal for the panic button) the next step is the key try your spare security key can become worn and cause issues with the antitheft system. After that it only leaves computer problems and those can get spendy

Change battery if it does not illuminate! 2.....if battery on fob OK.......Re Syncronise the key fob to the car by:.... a brief press on either button twice and within 30 seconds turn Key to position 2 on the ignition lock
Hope that fixes it...let me know?

Key fob will not undo cetral locking or disable car alarm changed battery in key fob still having no luck any idea who can re code key fob to central locking and alarm?

If you don't have one that works for the vehicle now, you'll have to take it to your local dealer to have it programmed to the vehicle. Some will charge for this, some will do it at no charge.

If you do have a remote that is programmed and working for the vehicle, then the following steps will allow you to program another remote:

1. Enter vehicle and close all doors.

2. Put seatbelt on (or clip it into the buckle) to shut the warning buzzer off.

3. Put key in ignition, turn to run position but don't start it.

4. Press and hold the unlock button on the working key fob and hold for 4 seconds, then also press the panic button.

5. Release both buttons and you should hear a single chime to indicate it is in program mode. You have 30 seconds after the chime to program any additional remotes you want to program.

6. Press and release both the unlock and lock buttons simultaneously on the remote you are programming. You should hear another single chime.

7. Within 4 seconds after hearing the chime, press either lock or unlock button on remote that you are programming.
