Question about 1990 Jeep Wrangler
Hey, i just had about the same problem. evry one was given me advice ,have had the coil check? i did and mine was on the low end they said the on ohms would be 8.64 and mine was 8.95 so i went for knew very cheap part at 14.00 changed rotor and cap. was around 56.00 for all. it was not my prob.i got to think about it what would cause it to run but would not go to higher rpm. well exhaust has to go somewhere so, i disconnected the exhaust at the catalatic converter and it ran like atop like new. hope this is it. i hope you have four bolts, this just break loose and becare not to brake the gasket. good luk ! claymister.

Chk. E.G.R. valve make sure its got vacume and that its functioning, they do get carboned up and quit working that will make it bog down. Also if that is not an issue, i would chk. fuel pressure, just to make sure you got the right P.S. I. If none of that helps the only other thing i can think of is timming.
