Can not turn key in ignition to the start position.
I was waiting to pick my daughter up at school on Friday, and i would turn the car on for 5 mins to get warm and then turn it off again, i did this maybe 3 times. I also locked the doors using the inside door lock button. when my daughter came out to the car. i unlocked the doors and she got in. When i went to start the car i couldn't get the ignition to the start position. The key would stop at the run position in the ignition. I do have remote start on the car. so from inside the car i locked the doors and started my car, put the key in the ignition and turned it to run, put my car in reverse and the way we went.

If the security light is hot or flashing when the key is in the on position, most likely the ignition key tumbler housing has failed.
You can try resetting the pass code by turning the ignition switch to the on position (do not crank or start the engine). Leave the key in the on position for 10 minutes. Turn the key to the off position, wait 5 seconds and turn the key to the on position again and leave it on for 10 more minutes. Cycle the key to the off position again for 5 seconds the back on for a final 10 minutes. Once the final 10 minutes is complete, turn to the off position again, wait 5 seconds and now turn the ignition on and to the start position. The pass code has now been reset and it should start. If the reset does not work you will have to change the ignition key tumbler housing that contains the key code resistor.
Try your spare key.It could be that the primary key you have been using needs to be reprogrammed, which can be done by contacting a dealer.Turn the key to the "On" position in order to reset the pass lock system.Wait for fifteen minutes with the key in the "On" position. If the security light disappears, turn the key to the "Accessories" position and wait for a couple of seconds.Turn the key to the "Off" position and take it out from the lock cylinder. Wait a couple of seconds and turn the car on.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Autel MaxiDAS DS708
Try this... turn the key on (just before the start position) for 10 min then off for 5 SECONDS then back on for 10 mins then off for 5 seconds then on for 10 mins then off for 5 secs. I just went thru this with my daughters car. By doing this you reset the computer (and the alarm). If this does not work then I'm sorry.

Take the Original Ignition key out to the car. Get in it and turn the key on. Every light should light up like your going to start it. The factory security light will flash. Leave the ignition on until it stops flashing. Should take about 10-15 min to do it. once it does, shut the key off and then turn it over to start the car.
