I have a few questions for you and i think i can help:
    1. was the engine rebuilt or replaced

    2. if it was replaced was it a crate engine or a short block

    3. is the engine stock, i.e. the engine it originally came with is identical to the one now in it.

The coil pack harness is the largest suspect here. i had the same cylinder and lousy running with it. I fixed mine myself but it wasn't pretty as I had to take the connector apart to do it. I believe ford has a replacement pigtail for the coil pack so if one of the smaller wires is kinked or busted off (like mine was) I'd purchase the new pigtail from them it will be easier than taking it apart yourself as I did. Regardless, my fix has held. __________________

Ford focus fault code p1246 is this an ecu fault

It's more than likely a wiring fault or an ECU fault - assuming this is one of the ECU controlled alternators. Check in this order 1 wiring 2 alternator 3 battery 4 ECM hope this helps

How can i put a DOHC into a SOHC 2001 Ford Focus? or would it be possible/easier to rebuild my SOHC? thanks!! ; )

Easier to rebuilt the SOHC since your going to have to replace the ECM and wire harness to accommodate the DOHC engine. Good luck and keep it simple.

I have a 2000 Ford Focus SOHC. In the past few days, it has surged at stop lights. The brake pedal is very hard and the car has extremely poor power. It finally quit running and now I have a cranks but no...

I would go buy a fuel pressure gauge and check the fuel pressure. If the pressure is good, the next thing I would do is change the coil pack. The deterioration of performance is a sign that the coil is bad. It would help a great deal if you had a friend who could read the engine code. If you can get the car to Autozone, they can read the code for you.
